Randomized Controlled Trial[The study of hypertonic saline and hydroxyethyl starch treating severe sepsis].
To evaluate the effect of 7.5% hypertonic saline (HS) and 6% hydroxyethyl starch (HES) 130/0.4 on early fluid resuscitation for severe sepsis. ⋯ 7.5%HS and 6%HES 130/0.4 could improve the effect of early fluid resuscitation on severe sepsis, and it could lower the incidence of MODS.

[A study of rate of compliance with sepsis bundle in patients with severe sepsis and septic shock in emergency department].
To evaluate the occurrence of severe sepsis and septic shock and the rate of compliance with sepsis bundle in patients with severe sepsis and septic shock in emergency department. ⋯ The incidence of severe sepsis and septic shock was high in emergency department, but the rate of recognition of it and the compliance with sepsis bundle were inadequate. It is urgently necessary to enhance the learning and implementation of the guideline.

[Effect of hydroxyethyl starch on intracranial pressure and plasma colloid osmotic pressure in rats with cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury].
To investigate the regulatory effect of hydroxyethyl starch on colloidal osmotic pressure (COP), and its effect on intracranial pressure (ICP) in rats with cerebral ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury. ⋯ Intravenous injection of hydroxyethyl starch 130/0.4 can increase the plasma COP, but it can not significantly reduce ICP and brain water content, and it also can not improve the neuronal apoptosis.

[Experimental study of a battlefield shock resuscitation fluid with new formula].
To propose a resuscitation fluid with a new formula for resuscitation of shock in battlefield on the basis of pathogenesis of hemorrhagic shock and clinical experiences, and to evaluate its safety and effectiveness in a rat hemorrhagic shock model. ⋯ The designed battlefield anti shock fluid in this study has been shown to be effective in fluid resuscitation for hemorrhage shock in rats, with reduced tissue edema and less injury to the liver, lung and intestine.

Controlled Clinical Trial[Passive leg raising predicts volume responsiveness in patients with severe sepsis and septic shock].
To evaluate the role of passive leg raising (PLR) test in predicting volume responsiveness in severe sepsis and septic shock patients. ⋯ PLR can be used generally to predict volume responsiveness accurately in severe sepsis and septic shock patients, and it can be used to direct clinical practice.
