[The influence of hypothermia therapy on enzymology and pathology of lung after cardiac arrest].
To study the effect of hypothermia on pro-inflammatory mediators in serum, the enzymology and pathology of lung tissue. ⋯ Hypothermia therapy with infusion of 4 centigrade NS can reduce the release of pro-inflammatory mediators, inhibit the ATPase activity of alveolar membrane, and shows a protective effect on lung tissue against low perfusion.

Randomized Controlled Trial[Study of erythromycin and metoclopramide in treatment of feeding intolerance of critically ill patients in intensive care unit].
To compare the effect of erythromycin and metoclopramide on feeding intolerance of critically ill patients in intensive care unit (ICU). ⋯ Low dose of erythromycin could improve the successful rate of feeding in critically ill patients in ICU. The combined administration of erythromycin and metoclopramide was more effective. Its side effect was minimal.

[A pilot study of a novel method for bedside placement of post-pyloric feeding tubes in critically ill patients].
To investigate a novel method of bedside placement of post-pyloric feeding tubes in critically ill patients, and to evaluate its success rate, time used, and safety of this bedside method. ⋯ Using a conventional nasoenteric feeding tube with a guide wire, and only one medical staff needed for the placement of the tube, this method is an efficient and cost-effective method of bedside post-pyloric feeding tube placement.

Comparative Study[A comparison of severity of illness scoring system for emergency department patients with systemic inflammatory response syndrome].
To evaluate the predictive ability of 3 scoring systems, i.e. acute physiology and chronic health evaluation II (APACHE II) score, simplified acute physiology score II (SAPS II) and mortality in emergency department sepsis (MEDS) score in patients presenting systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS) in emergency department. ⋯ In emergency department patients with SIRS, the MEDS score possesses more predictive ability than APACHE II score.

[Study on dynamic changes in coagulability and von Willebrand factor and its correlation with prognosis of cardiopulmonary resuscitation].
To investigate dynamic changes in coagulability and von Willebrand factor (vWF), and explore their correlation with prognosis of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). ⋯ Tissue and vascular endothelial injury, endogenous and extrinsic coagulation disorder and fibrinolytic dysfunction are found in the patients undergoing CPR. Their dynamic changes are observed in the course of CPR, and they are valuable in assessing the severity of patients' condition and prognosis.
