[Clinical value of noninvasive positive-pressure ventilation in chronic obstruction pulmonary disease combined with type II respiratory failure: a 4-year retrospective study].
To evaluate the value of noninvasive positive-pressure ventilation (NIPPV) in treatment of patients with chronic obstruction pulmonary disease (COPD) combined with type II respiratory failure (RF). ⋯ NIPPV is beneficial to COPD combined with type II RF in different degrees.

[Influence of combining positive end-expiratory pressure with prone position on acute respiratory distress syndrome in pig].
To determine the effect of combining positive end-expiratory pressure (PEEP) with prone position during acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) and its mechanism. ⋯ In pigs with ARDS, prone position improves PaO2/FiO2 significantly without influence on respiratory mechanics and hemodynamics. Redistribution of lung injury may be one of the mechanisms of its beneficial effect.

Randomized Controlled Trial[Effects of recruitment maneuver on elderly patients after major operations].
To study the effect of recruitment maneuver (RM) in preventing atelectasis and lung injury in elderly patients after major operations, and to evaluate the safety of RMs. ⋯ RM is safe when used in elderly patients. It can significantly improve oxygenation in elderly patients.

[The impact of positive end-expiratory pressure on cerebral perfusion pressure and hemodynamics in patients receiving lung recruitment maneuver].
To explore the impact of lung recruitment maneuver (RM) on intracranial pressure (ICP), cerebral perfusion pressure (CPP) and mean arterial pressure (MAP). ⋯ There is considerable individual difference in impact of RM on MAP, ICP and CPP in patients with cerebral. ICP monitoring is helpful to assure safety of RM in patients with cerebral injury complicated with lung injury.

[The role of disequilibrium of expression of matrix metalloproteinase-2/9 and their tissue inhibitors in pathogenesis of hyperoxia-induced acute lung injury in mice].
To investigate the role of matrix metalloproteinase-2/9 (MMP-2/9) and their tissue inhibitors (TIMP-1/2) in pathogenesis of acute lung injury (ALI) induced by hyperoxia. ⋯ Hyperoxia causes ALI in mice, and disturbance of MMP-2/TIMP-2 balance plays an important role in the development of hyperoxia-induced ALI in mice.
