Diagnostic accuracy of digital versus film mammography: exploratory analysis of selected population subgroups in DMIST.
To retrospectively compare the accuracy of digital versus film mammography in population subgroups of the Digital Mammographic Imaging Screening Trial (DMIST) defined by combinations of age, menopausal status, and breast density, by using either biopsy results or follow-up information as the reference standard. ⋯ Digital mammography performed significantly better than film for pre- and perimenopausal women younger than 50 years with dense breasts, but film tended nonsignificantly to perform better for women aged 65 years or older with fatty breasts.

To prospectively and externally validate published national and international guidelines for the indications of computed tomography (CT) in patients with a minor head injury. ⋯ radiology.rsnajnls.org/cgi/content/full/2452061509/DC1 (c) RSNA, 2007.

CT Screening for lung cancer: diagnoses resulting from the New York Early Lung Cancer Action Project.
To evaluate prospectively the diagnostic performance of the New York Early Lung Cancer Action Project (NY-ELCAP) regimen in the diagnosis of early lung cancer at baseline and annual repeat computed tomographic (CT) screenings. ⋯ The NY-ELCAP regimen of screening revealed that annual CT screening for lung cancer resulted in identification of a high proportion of patients with early-stage disease.

Contrast enhancement of central nervous system lesions: multicenter intraindividual crossover comparative study of two MR contrast agents.
To prospectively compare gadobenate dimeglumine with gadopentetate dimeglumine (0.1 mmol per kilogram body weight) for enhanced magnetic resonance (MR) imaging of central nervous system (CNS) lesions. ⋯ Gadobenate compared with gadopentetate at an equivalent dose provides significantly better enhancement and diagnostic information for CNS MR imaging.

Diagnostic architectural and dynamic features at breast MR imaging: multicenter study.
To prospectively determine the prevalence and predictive value of three-dimensional (3D) and dynamic breast magnetic resonance (MR) imaging and contrast material kinetic features alone and as part of predictive diagnostic models. ⋯ Architectural and dynamic features are important in breast MR imaging interpretation. Multivariate models involving feature assessment have a diagnostic accuracy superior to that of qualitative characterization of the dynamic enhancement pattern.
