PURPOSE OF THE STUDY The aim of our study was to determine the indications for radial head resection at the present day. MATERIAL AND METHODS The radial head resection was performed in the period from 2008 to 2015 in 63 patients divided into three groups. The first group marked "CR" consisted of 33 patients with the Mason type III fracture. ⋯ Serious complications occurred only in cases when the fracture was accompanied by a concomitant injury, i.e. in the Mason-Johnson type IV fractures and in concomitant proximal ulna fracture. When an indication for radial head resection is made, it is essential to correctly diagnose the injury which is clearly a contraindication to this method, i.e. the Essex-Lopresti and the "terrible triad" injuries. Key words: fracture, radial head, resection.

[Treatment Options for Inveterate Injuries of Deep Finger Flexors - Primary Transplantation with Tendon Graft].
Injuries of the flexor finger apparatus are very common. Primarily, it is routinely treated by suture of the tendon. Isolated deep flexor injuries, when the flexion restriction only reaches the DIP joint, are sometimes overlooked by the surgeon or by the patients themselves, especially if the deep flexor is injured, after a closed rupture or cutaneous injury with a small skin wound. ⋯ It removes painful palmar resistance by restoring the right position and a tension of tendon of lumbricalis and the tendon of the deep flexor. This type of reconstruction allows immediate active or semi-rehabilitation of the hand and fingers. Key words:tendon, injury, hand, transplantation, surgery, flexor, reconstruction, rupture, treatment.

[Innovated Judet Ribs Plates - Preclinical Study, First Clinical Experience].
PURPOSE OF THE STUDY Based on the experience with using the Judet plates in stabilization of rib fractures an innovated Judet plate was constructed in cooperation with the Development Department of Medin company. During the preclinical part of the project, following the construction of the new Judet plate, a surgical technique was elaborated. Subsequently, the clinical application of rib osteosynthesis with innovated plates was commenced. ⋯ The new technical parameters of the plate, including its weight, new fixation clips, locking screws and instruments are the priorities of the innovated Judet plates. The innovation of Judet plates represents an important step towards the extension of indications for surgical stabilisation of the chest. Key words:innovative Judet plates, preclinical study, osteosynthesis of rib fractures.

[Tear of the Distal Biceps Brachii Tendon - Correlation of Ultrasound and Operative Findings, Surgical Therapy Results].
PURPOSE OF THE STUDY When treating tears of the distal biceps brachii muscle tendon, we repeatedly noticed a difference between the preoperative ultrasound findings and the operative findings. The aim of the study was to retrospectively correlate these findings in order to determine the sensitivity of the ultrasound examination in everyday orthopaedic practice. Moreover, we compared the results and complications of surgical treatment through two operative techniques used at our department. ⋯ For surgical treatment of this injury we prefer the technique using a bone anchor, namely particularly since it is technically easier to perform. The functional results are very good. Key words: distal biceps tendon, elbow, tendon tear, ultrasound, suture anchors.

[Clinical Results of Endoscopic Treatment of Greater Trochanteric Pain Syndrome].
PURPOSE OF THE STUDY This retrospective study aims to present short-term clinical outcomes of endoscopic treatment of patients with greater trochanteric pain syndrome (GTPS). MATERIAL AND METHODS The evaluated study population was composed of a total of 19 patients (16 women, 3 men) with the mean age of 47 years (19-63 years). In twelve cases the right hip joint was affected, in the remaining seven cases it was the left side. ⋯ In our study we succeeded in achieving similar clinical results as those achieved by the other authors engaged in this area. CONCLUSIONS It has been proven in this retrospective study that the technique of endoscopic trochanteric bursectomy in patients with greater trochanteric pain syndrome yields statistically significant improvement of clinical results with the concurrent minimum incidence of postoperative complications. Key words: greater trochanteric pain syndrome, peritrochanteric space, recalcitrant trochanteric bursitis, hip arthroscopy, endoscopic trochanteric bursectomy, iliotibial band release.
