Tourniquet Master Training for Junctional and Inguinal Hemorrhage Control (TMT).
Junctional and inguinal bleeding is a significant and challenging problem on the battlefield. Inventors have developed new types of tourniquets, including the Abdominal Aortic Tourniquet™ (AAT) and the Combat Ready Clamp™ (CRoC) to address these abdominal and pelvic injuries. ⋯ To address these needs, a sensor-enabled manikin was designed. Using the sensor data, the different phases of applying the tourniquet were captured and key performance was measured.

The design and implementation of a ubiquitous personal health record system for South Africa.
Doctors can experience difficulty in accessing medical information of new patients. One reason for this is that, the management of medical records is mostly institution-centred. The lack of access to medical information may affect patients in several ways, such as: new medical tests may be carried out at a cost to the patient, and doctors may prescribe drugs to which the patient is allergic. ⋯ The design was informed by a literature review of existing personal health record standards, applications and the need to ensure patient privacy. Three medical practices in Port Elizabeth were interviewed with the aim of contextualizing the personal health record standards from the literature study. The findings of this research provide an insight as to how patients can bridge the gap created by institution-centred management of medical records.

A Personal Health Record System for Diabetes Care Conforming to the ISO 16527 Interoperability Requirements.
A Personal Health Record (PHR) is a health information repository controlled and managed directly by a patient or his/her custodian, or a person interested in his/her own health. PHR System's adoption and compliance with international standards is foremost important because it can help to meet international, national, regional or institutional interoperability and portability policies. ⋯ Interoperability functions were added to this platform by integrating the Mirth Connect platform. The assessment of the platform's interoperability capabilities was carried out by a group of experts, who verified the interoperability requirements proposed in the ISO 16527 standard.

Often, newspapers use the term 'schizophrenia' as a metaphor with negative connotations. The use of the term in Greek newspapers, has never been investigated. The aim of this study is to examine how the term 'schizophrenia' is used in Greek newspaper websites. ⋯ The metaphoric use of 'schizophrenia' indicated predominately incoherence/contradiction/split (n=43, 90%). Monitoring how schizophrenia is presented within popular media is crucial, since it could influence public perceptions regarding the disorder. Continual use of schizophrenia as a metaphor could contribute to maintaining the stigma attached to mental illness.
