[Experimental study on the proliferation and plasticity of neural stem cells in situ in adult rats after cerebral infarction].
To investigate the proliferation and plasticity of neural stem cells in situ in adult rats after cerebral infarction. ⋯ Our results indicate that cerebral infarction stimulate the proliferation of inherent neural stem cells in situ and most proliferated neural stem cells represent neural plasticity.

[Expression of orexin A, orexin receptor-1, and Ob-R of hypothalamus in rats with chronic renal failure].
To examine the changes of expressions of orexin A, orexin receptor-1 (OX1R), prepro-orexin (Prepro-OX) mRNA, OX1R mRNA and ob-R of hypothalamus in rats with chronic renal failure (CRF). ⋯ The lower hypothalamus orexin A levels may be induced by high serum leptin level in CRF rats. The lower expression of hypothalamus Prepro-OX mRNA in CRF rats may be one of the main causes inducing lower hypothalamus orexin A. The expression of OX1R in hypothalamus neurons is somewhat reduced and the expression of ob-R in hypothalamus neurons is somewhat raised in CRF rats. These remain to be studied further.

To isolate and identify SARS-coronavirus in nasal and throat swabs collected from clinically diagnosed severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) patients. ⋯ The 3 isolates from nasal and throat swabs samples collected from 79 clinically diagnosed SARS patients were SARS coronavirus.

[Change of T lymphocyte and its activated subsets in SARS patients].
To study abnormal changes of T lymphocyte and its activated subsets in severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) patients. ⋯ With depressing cellular immunity, the activation of T lymphocytes were suppressed obviously in SARS patients, especially for critical patients.

[Acute lung injury and changes of myocardial ATP enzymes induced by lipopolysaccharide in aging rats].
To investigate whether acute lung injury (ALI) and changes of myocardial ATP enzymes were induced by intravenous or intraventricle of left heart injection of lipopolysaccharide (LPS) in aging rats. ⋯ ALI was obviously formed by intravenous injection LPS after 2, 6 hours in aging rats. Myocardial enzyme etc decreased only at 6 hours in ALI group. But above parameters were no obviously changes in LPS group. It was suggested that there was probable myocardial damage in rats of ALI group, and it was mainly induced by ALI.
