Alveolar microlithiasis (AM) is a rare disease, characterized by the accumulation of calcium concretions in the pulmonary alveolar lumen. We report a new case of AM suspected on chest X-ray and confirmed by chest CT scan, whose appearance was pathognomonic, and by transbronchial pulmonary biopsy. ⋯ The cause of this disease is unknown. However autosomal recessive inheritance with mutation in the SLC34A2 gene is suspected.

Normal adnexal torsion is rare during pregnancy. We here report the case of a 22-year old patient presenting with acute lateropelvic pain associated with a 2-month history amenorrhea. Exploratory laparotomy showed severe ischemia due to torsion in a normal ovary. ⋯ Ultrasound examination after 3 weeks showed normal pregnancy. Ovarian torsion is an emergency that should not be ignored in pregnant women with acute pelvic pain. Conservative treatment is the gold standard and proper management is necessary to avoid possible maternal and fetal complications.

Immunization for children against vaccine-preventable diseases is one of the most important health intervention method in the world, both in terms of its health impact and cost-effectiveness. Through EPI and various other programs such as the Decades of Vaccines, immunization has been improving the health of children around the world. However, this progress falls short of global immunization targets of the Global Vaccine Action Plan (GVAP). ⋯ With mobile phones becoming more accessible in Africa, SMS vaccine reminder system has been proposed as a convenient and easily scalable way to inform caregivers of the disease and the importance of immunization, to address any concerns related to immunization safety, and to remind them of vaccination schedules and campaigns. There have been 6 published articles and 1 unpublished article on the effect of SMS reminder system for immunization in Africa. The studies done has shown that SMS vaccination reminder has led to improvements in vaccination uptakes in various metrics, whether is through the increase in vaccination coverage, decrease in dropout rates, increase in completion rate, or decrease in delay for vaccination.

Review Case Reports
[Fracture-separation of the medial clavicular epiphysis: about 6 cases and review of the literature].
This study aims to describe the epidemiological characteristics and the different anatomo-clinical entities of the fracture-separation of the medial clavicular epiphysis but also to relate the morphological and functional results of bloody reduction followed by osteosuture using non absorbable thread. Five boys and one girl (mean age 14 years) showed a closed and isolated shoulder girdle trauma. Clinical examination and medical imaging, especially CT scan, allowed the diagnosis of epiphyseal separation and to classify the degree of medial clavicular epiphysiseal ossification indicating the direction of displacement as well as the nature of displacement according to the Salter-Harris classification. ⋯ It can be serious because of the risk of visceral and vascular compression in its posterior form. Tomdensitometry is irreplaceable for an accurate diagnosis. Our preference is for bloody reduction followed by osteosuture using non metallic thread.

Despite significant progress made in the field of safety in anesthesia, morbidity (serious or not, completely or partially related to anesthesia) remains common and no health practitioner is immune from accidents. In the current context where priority is given to training programmes, to quality and safety improvement in health care, the occurrence of an anesthesia-related accident in the surgery department is an extremely traumatic event. The fear of prosecution, the emotional context make it difficult to manage. For this reason, it must be codified according to Department protocols, based on three main axes of management: patient victim, medical and paramedical staff involved and accident analysis to prevent its recurrence. ⋯ This observation highlights the different adverse events which have been recorded since the establishment of the data registry 6 months before. We offer a critical reading of this data registry for the sole purpose of improving our practices with a view to strengthening safety during anaesthesia.
