Randomized Controlled TrialRemifentanil combined with low-dose ketamine for postoperative analgesia of lower limb fracture: a double-blind, controlled study.
To investigate the adjuvant effect of intraoperative and postoperative low-dose ketamine administration to remifentanil consumption in patient-controlled analgesia (PCA) for lower limb fracture. ⋯ Low-dose ketamine can relieve postoperative pain and moderately decrease remifentanil consumption for PCA, with no obvious side effects of ketamine.

Randomized Controlled Trial Clinical TrialTherapeutic effect of mild hypothermia on severe traumatic head injury.
To investigate the therapeutic effect of mild hypothermia on severe traumatic brain injury. ⋯ Mild hypothermia is a safe and effective therapeutic method, which can lower the extradural pressure, increase the serum superoxide dismutase and improve the neurological outcomes without severe complications in the patients with severe traumatic brain injury.

Randomized Controlled Trial Clinical TrialEffects of mild hypothermia on patients with lower intracranial pressure following severe brain injury.
To study the effects of mild hypothermia therapy on severe brain-injured patients whose intracranial pressure (ICP) could be maintained below 25 mm Hg. ⋯ Mild hypothermia has no additional beneficial effects on severe brain-injured patients compared with normothermia therapy if ICP can be maintained below 25 mm Hg by using conventional therapy.

Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative Study Clinical TrialCerebral perfusion SPECT imaging for assessment of the effect of hyperbaric oxygen therapy on patients with postbrain injury neural status.
To evaluate the effects of hyperbaric oxygen (HBO) therapy on patients with postbrain injury neural status. ⋯ HBO therapy has specific curative effects on patients with postbrain injury neural status, and (99m)Tc-ECD SPECT could play an important role in diagnosing postbrain injury neural status and monitoring the therapeutic effects of HBO.

Randomized Controlled Trial Clinical TrialEffect of seawater immersion on plasma osmotic pressure and electrolyte balance following open chest trauma.
To explore the effect of seawater immersion on serum osmotic pressure and electrolytes balance following chest trauma in dogs. ⋯ Seawater immersion after chest trauma appears to be associated with severe electrolyte imbalance as well as high osmotic pressure. These may be the risk factors leading to fatal outcome.
