Particulate Matter and Temperature: Increased Risk of Adverse Clinical Outcomes in Patients With Atrial Fibrillation.
To test the hypothesis that particulate matter with an aerodynamic diameter of less than 10 μm (PM10) and temperature are associated with an increased risk of adverse clinical outcomes in patients with atrial fibrillation (AF) taking vitamin K antagonists (VKAs). ⋯ In patients with AF taking VKAs, high PM10 and low temperature were associated with increased risk of ischemic stroke and cardiovascular events, respectively. Both factors increased major bleeding and mortality risks, which were higher during colder months and seasons.

Stress and Fear: Clinical Implications for Providers and Patients (in the Time of COVID-19 and Beyond).
In light of the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic, we explore the role of stress, fear, and the impact of positive and negative emotions on health and disease. We then introduce strategies to help mitigate stress within the health care team, and provide a rationale for their efficacy. Additionally, we identify strategies to optimize patient care and explain their heightened importance in today's environment.

Correlations Between COVID-19 Cases and Google Trends Data in the United States: A State-by-State Analysis.
To evaluate whether a digital surveillance model using Google Trends is feasible for obtaining accurate data on coronavirus disease 2019 and whether accurate predictions can be made regarding new cases. ⋯ This study documents the feasibility of syndromic surveillance of internet search terms to monitor new infectious diseases such as coronavirus disease 2019. This information could enable better preparation and planning of health care systems.
