Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter StudyFrequently Reported Adverse Events With Smoking Cessation Medications: Post Hoc Analysis of a Randomized Trial.
To compare the incidence, severity, and clinical course of frequently reported adverse events (AEs) after treatment with smoking cessation pharmacotherapies. ⋯ Active treatments were well tolerated with comparable AE profiles. Most AEs are not clinically important, and prescribers can reassure patients that those experienced will be manageable.

Meta AnalysisJanus Kinase Inhibitors and Risk of Venous Thromboembolism: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis.
To assess the risk of venous thromboembolism (VTE) in patients treated with Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitors in clinical trials. ⋯ We found insufficient evidence to support an increased risk of JAK inhibitor-associated VTE based on currently available data.

Multicenter StudyMacrovascular Thrombotic Events in a Mayo Clinic Enterprise-Wide Sample of Hospitalized COVID-19-Positive Compared With COVID-19-Negative Patients.
To determine the difference in the rate of thromboembolic complications between hospitalized coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19)-positive compared with COVID-19-negative patients. ⋯ Early experience in patients with COVID-19 across multiple academic and regional hospitals representing different US regions demonstrates a lower than previously reported incidence of thrombotic events. This incidence was not higher than a contemporary COVID-negative hospitalized comparator.

Prognostic Value of Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging in Acute Coronary Syndrome Patients With Troponin Elevation and Nonobstructive Coronary Arteries.
To define the diagnostic yield of cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) in differentiating the underlying causes of myocardial infarction with nonobstructive coronary arteries (MINOCA) and to determine the long-term prognostic implications of such diagnoses. ⋯ Cardiac magnetic resonance carries a high diagnostic yield in patients with MINOCA and predicts long-term prognosis. Patients with MINOCA with normal CMR imaging had an increased rate of major adverse cardiac events and lower use of guideline-recommended myocardial infarction therapy compared with those with CMR-confirmed myocardial infarction.

Post-COVID-19 Syndrome (Long Haul Syndrome): Description of a Multidisciplinary Clinic at Mayo Clinic and Characteristics of the Initial Patient Cohort.
To describe characteristics of a series of patients reporting prolonged symptoms after an infection with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). ⋯ Most of the patients did not have COVID-19-related symptoms that were severe enough to require hospitalization, were younger than 65 years, and were more likely to be female, and most had no preexisting comorbidities before severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 infection. Symptoms including mood disorders, fatigue, and perceived cognitive impairment resulted in severe negative impacts on resumption of functional and occupational activities in patients experiencing prolonged effects.
