In this prospective, randomized, double-blind study, we verified the hypothesis that TEAS can alleviate remifentanil-induced hyperalgesia in patients undergoing thyroidectomy. ⋯ Preoperative TEAS can attenuate remifentanil-induced hyperalgesia in patients undergoing thyroidectomy.

To study the awakening of the elderly patients from propofol intravenous general anesthesia or sevoflurane inhalation general anesthesia combined with epidural block after radical gastric cancer surgery. ⋯ Compared to propofol intravenous general anesthesia or sevoflurane inhalation general anesthesia, propofol or sevoflurane general anesthesia combined with epidural block was more conducive to increasing the awakening quality of the senile patients from anesthesia after radical gastric cancer surgery. Moreover, sevofluorane inhalation general anesthesia combined with epidural block achieved a more stable hemodynamics and a shortened time to awakening.

Post thoracotomy chronic pain is a severe problem that affects the majority of patients and decreases the quality of life. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the long-term effects of thoracal epidural levobupivacaine and intravenous dexketoprofen analgesia formed pre-emptively on the wound site pain after major thoracotomy operations. This randomised, prospective and double-blind study was performed with 60 patients undergoing thoracic surgery. ⋯ When the scores of Patient Satisfaction Scale (PSS) of the cases were compared, they were found to be higher in Group PED as statistically significant during the discharge period (P<0.001). Scores of PSS were higher in Group PED as statistically significant during the postoperative month 6 (P = 0.008). Combined application of pre-emptive intravenous dexketoprofen and thoracal epidural analgesia reduce the chronic post-thoracotomy pain.

To observe the potency ratio of hyperbaric to isobaric solutions of ropivacaine in subarachnoid block for knee arthroscopy. ⋯ The ED50 of hyperbaric ropivacaine is less than that of isobaric ropivacaine in subarachnoid block anesthesia for knee arthroscopy.

The objective of this meta-analysis was to evaluate the efficacy of limited fluid resuscitation during active hemorrhage compared with regular fluid resuscitation and provide strong evidences for the improvement of fluid resuscitation strategies in uncontrolled hemorrhagic shock. ⋯ The results provide convincing evidence that support the continued investigation and use of limited fluid resuscitation during active hemorrhage in the trauma setting.
