Meta Analysis[A meta-analysis for the efficacy and safety of tourniquet in total knee arthroplasty].
To evaluate the efficacy and safety of tourniquet in total knee arthroplasty. ⋯ The tourniquet for total knee arthroplasty can reduce intraoperative blood loss, but can not reduce total blood loss and the number of blood transfusions transfusion, can not improve operative efficiency, can not shorten the hospitalization time and promote the knee joint functional recovery. Furthermore the tourniquet increases the probability of occurrence on deep vein thrombosis, wound infection, hematoma and ecchymosis knee, it also causes knee swelling and thigh pain. It suggests minimize to use tourniquet in total knee arthroplasty.

Review Meta Analysis[The efficiency and safety of laparoscopic surgery for colorectal carcinoma: a systematic review].
To evaluate and compare the efficiency and safety of laparoscopic surgery (LS) and open surgery (OS) in the treatment of colorectal carcinoma. ⋯ Laparoscopic surgery for colorectal carcinoma is a safe and effective therapy as open surgery in the short term or long term outcomes. It could be an acceptable alternative to open surgery for colorectal carcinoma.

Meta Analysis[Timing of tracheotomy on the prognosis of patients with prolonged mechanical ventilation: a meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials].
To evaluate the effect of timing of tracheotomy on the prognosis of prolonged mechanically ventilated patients. ⋯ In critically ill adult patients who require prolonged mechanical ventilation, early tracheotomy performed at an earlier stage reduces the mortality, but doesn't reduce the incidence of pneumonia and shorten the mechanical ventilation days and ICU length of stay. But more high quality RCTs are required to confirm it.

Meta Analysis[Meta-analysis of suture techniques for midline abdominal incisions].
To evaluate the safety and efficacy of suture techniques for midline abdominal incisions with systematic review and meta-analysis. ⋯ To reduce the incidence of incisional hernia without increasing wound infection frequency, the ideal suture technique is mass closure using a continuous suture, with an adequate suture length/wound length ratio no less than 4:1, the suture materials should be slowly absorbable.

Meta Analysis[A meta-analysis of the effectiveness and safety of using tranexamic acid in spine surgery].
To assess the effectiveness and safety of using tranexamic acid (TXA) in reducing blood loss in spine surgery through a meta-analysis. ⋯ This meta-analysis indicates that the use of TXA infusion for patients undergoing spine surgery is effective in reducing total blood loss, transfusion volumes and the rate of transfusion, yet doesn't raise the risk of postoperative DVT.
