Review[Research progress on macrophage in radiation induced lung injury].
Radiation-induced lung injury (RILI), including acute radiation pneumonitis and chronic radiation-induced pulmonary fibrosis (RIPF), is a side effect of radiotherapy for lung cancer and esophageal cancer. Pulmonary macrophages, as a kind of natural immune cells maintaining lung homeostasis, play a key role in the whole pathological process of RILI. ⋯ In the later stage of RILI, alternatively activated M2 macrophages secrete profibrotic cytokines to promote the development of RIPF. The roles of macrophage in the pathogenesis of RILI and the related potential clinical applications are summarized in this review.

Review[Pharmaceutical care for severe and critically ill patients with COVID-19].
Severe and critically ill patients with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) were usually with underlying diseases, which led to the problems of complicated drug use, potential drug-drug interactions and medication errors in special patients. Based on Diagnosis and treatment of novel coronavirus pneumonia (trial version 6), and Management of COVID-19: the Zhejiang experience, we summarized the experience in the use of antiviral drugs, corticosteroids, vascular active drugs, antibacterial, probiotics, nutrition support schemes in severe and critically ill COVID-19 patients. It is also suggested to focus on medication management for evaluation of drug efficacy and duration of treatment, prevention and treatment of adverse drug reactions, identification of potential drug-drug interactions, individualized medication monitoring based on biosafety protection, and medication administration for special patients.

In addition to common clinical features, patients with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) have varying degree of coagulation dysfunction with the risk of thrombosis and/or bleeding. COVID-19 related coagulation dysfunction is a dynamic process, which may be accompanied by the formation of disseminated intravascular coagulation and is related to the severity of the disease. ⋯ Dynamic monitoring as well as early prevention and treatment are of great significance for improving the prognosis of patients. This article reviews the research progress of COVID-19 related coagulation dysfunction, to provide reference for clinical research and management.

Review[Potential clinical application of Kisspeptin in reproductive endocrinology].
Gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) plays an important role in the process of reproduction. Studies have shown that a family of peptides Kisspeptin can act on GnRH-related neurons, stimulating the secretion of GnRH, and activating the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis. Both animal experiments and clinical studies have shown that exogenous administration of Kisspeptin is able to induce physiological GnRH release in healthy individuals and those with endocrine-disorders, which brings great hope for treatment of reproductive endocrine diseases. ⋯ Kisspeptin is involved in trophoblast invasion, so it may be useful for predicting pregnancy outcomes. In addition, Kisspeptin is the key hormone in the onset of puberty acting as a signal transducer in metabolism and reproduction, so it provides some directions for studies of polycystic ovary syndrome, hyperprolactinemia, and other metabolic-related reproductive endocrine diseases. This article reviews the character of Kisspeptin and the prospect of its application in treatment of reproductive endocrine diseases.

Review[MicroRNAs: a type of novel regulative factor for intervertebral disc degeneration].
Intervertebral disc degeneration (IDD) is one of major causes for intervertebral disc degenerative diseases, and patients with IDD usually suffer from serious low back pain. The current treatments for patients with IDD only relieve the clinical symptom rather than restore biological balance of IDD, leading to inadequate and unsatisfactory results. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are endogenous, non-coding, single-stranded RNA molecules, which regulate the gene expression at the post-transcription levels. ⋯ Accumulating evidences indicate that the expressions of miRNAs change significantly in degenerative tissues. In addition, dysregulated miRNAs contribute to multiple pathological process of IDD, including proliferation and apoptosis of nucleus pulposus and extracellular matrix components, inflammatory response and cartilage endplates degeneration. In this review article, we summarize the expression profiles and roles of miRNAs in IDD, which may provide a novel strategy of biological therapy for the disease.
