Uptake Rate of Risk-Reducing Salpingo-Oophorectomy and Surgical Outcomes of Female Germline BRCA1/2 Mutation Carriers: A Retrospective Cohort Study.
This study investigated the uptake rate of risk-reducing salpingo-oophorectomy (RRSO) and surgical outcomes of germline BRCA1/2 mutation carriers at Seoul National University Hospital (SNUH). ⋯ The uptake rate of RRSO in BRCA1/2 mutation carriers was about 70%. Considering incidental cancer cases in women without abnormal findings on preoperative evaluation, BRCA1/2-mutated women might refrain from the delayed implementation of RRSO after the genetic test.

Changes in Clinical Characteristics among Febrile Patients Visiting the Emergency Department before and after the COVID-19 Outbreak.
Considering the risk of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) transmission through infected droplets, emergency department (ED) operations in response to febrile patients should be planned. We investigated the general and clinical characteristics of febrile patients visiting the ED and changes in admission rates via the ED during the COVID-19 outbreak. ⋯ This study confirmed that admission rates and ED LOS increased for febrile patients visiting the ED after the COVID-19 outbreak. This could provide evidence for developing ED-related strategies in response to the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak and other infectious disease pandemics.

Prophylactic Cerclage to Prevent Preterm Birth after Conization: A Cohort Study Using Data from the National Health Insurance Service of Korea.
To investigate potential differences in the frequency of preterm births (PTB) between pregnancies with or without prophylactic cerclage in women with a history of conization. ⋯ Early cerclage performed before MSAFP testing does not prevent PTB in pregnancy with a history of conization, but increases the risk of adverse pregnancy outcomes, including PTB.

Changes in Patterns of Radical Prostatectomy due to Diffusion of Robotic Surgical System: A Nationwide Study Using Health Insurance Claims Data.
This study analyzed the changes in the number of surgeries and surgical patterns due to the adoption and diffusion of new medical technology while focusing on radical prostatectomy. ⋯ The adoption and diffusion of robotic surgical systems in Korea increased the number of surgeries as well as the share of robotic surgery. It is necessary to manage a technology that is widely used in a state where its clinical effectiveness is uncertain.
