Comparative Study[Monitoring depth of anesthesia: a comparision between electroencephalographic nonlinear index and bispectral index].
To compare the efficiency and accuracy of electroencephalographic nonlinear index (ENI) and bispectral index (BIS) in monitoring depth of anesthesia during general anesthesia. ⋯ ENI and BIS provide similar information reflecting the states of anesthesia, which allows accurate distinguishment between different states of anesthesia. The clinical performance of ENI is better than that of BIS.

Comparative Study[Evaluation of five D-dimer assays for the exclusion of venous thromboembolism].
To evaluate the diagnostic performance of five D-dimer assays for the exclusion of suspected venous thromboembolis (VTE). ⋯ Liatest STAGO DD, DD Plus, and VIDAS DD have good diagnostic performance for the exclusion of VTE. They are easier and quicker to perform and can serve as an alternative test for ELISA. Further validation is needed for clinical applications.

[Incidence and risk factors of stroke in patients with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation in Haikou].
To investigate the incidence of ischemic stroke and associated risk factors in patients with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation (NVAF) in Haikou. ⋯ Age, type of atrial fibrillation and hypertension are independent risk factors for ischemic stroke in patients with NVAF. Uninterrupted use of aspirin can be beneficial to patients with NVAF.

Comparative Study[Effects of enteral nutrition and parenteral nutrition on gut epithelial tight junction and barrier function in rats after surgical stress].
To compare the effects of enteral nutrition (EN) and parenteral nutrition (PN) on gut mucosal barrier function and intestinal epithelial tight junctions in rats after surgical stress. ⋯ Neither EN nor standard PN maintains intestinal membrane barriers. But EN increases the expression of transmember binding proteins, maintains the gut epithelial tight junction, improves intestinal mucosal barrier and reduces gut bacterial translocation.

Randomized Controlled Trial[Clinical efficacy and pharmacokinetics of different concentrations of ropivacaine with the same dosage on blocking lumbar plexus with sciatic nerves].
To test the clinical efficacy and pharmacokinetics of different concentrations of ropivacaine with the same dosage on blocking lumbar plexus with sciatic nerves. ⋯ With the same dosage, ropivacaine, in a lower concentration achieves better insensate. The plasma concentration-time curve for ropivacaine fits into a two-compartment pharmacokinetic model. The larger volume of ropivacain produces greater Cmax, and AUC(0-infinity) than the lower volume of ropivacain with the same dosage.
