[Status of nosocomial urinary tract infections in the ICU: molecular epidemiology of imipenem resistant P. aeruginosa].
This retrospective study was done to evaluate the status of nosocomial urinary tract infections and to determine the risk factors and transmission route of causal IRPA through molecular epidemiology. ⋯ Through these results, IRPA can be considered as a contributing factors to urinary tract infections thus, active preventative measures are needed by the medical staff.

Controlled Clinical Trial[The effect of oral glucose on pain relief in newborns].
This study was done to provide data for a nursing intervention to alleviate newborn pain clinically by investigating the effect of oral glucose. ⋯ Oral administration of glucose before a heel stick caused the reduction of neonatal pain behavior, which means that it has an effect of pain relief.

[Effects of pain control education on pain control barrier, postoperative pain and pain control satisfaction in gynecological patients].
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of preoperative pain control education on the pain control barrier, postoperative pain and pain control satisfaction in gynecological patients. ⋯ With the above results, preoperative pain control education could be an effective nursing intervention for pain control of surgical patients.

The purpose of this study was to analyze and clarify the ambiguous concept of DNR, and to distinguish between DNR and euthanasia. ⋯ DNR is decided and documented by the antecedents of DNR, and the result is a natural acceptance of death, the last process of human life. Hospice care should be activated and nurses must be patient's advocates and families' supporters in the process.

[Variations in nurse staffing in adult and neonatal intensive care units].
This study was done to analyze variations in unit staffing and recommend policies to improve nursing staffing levels in intensive care units (ICUs). ⋯ Stratification of nurse staffing levels and differentiation of ICU utilization fees based on staffing grades are recommended as a policy tool to improve nurse staffing in ICUs.
