Meta AnalysisLack of evidence for a harmful effect of sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitors on fracture risk among type 2 diabetes patients: a network and cumulative meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials.
To evaluate the comparative effects of sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitors on risk of bone fracture in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). ⋯ Our meta-analysis based on available RCT data does not support the harmful effect of SGLT2 inhibitors on fractures, although future safety monitoring from RCTs and real-world data with detailed information on bone health is warranted.

To test whether adjusting insulin and glucagon in response to exercise within a dual-hormone artificial pancreas (AP) reduces exercise-related hypoglycaemia. ⋯ Adjusting insulin and glucagon delivery at exercise onset within a dual-hormone AP significantly reduces hypoglycaemia compared with no adjustment and performs similarly to SAP therapy when insulin is adjusted before exercise.

Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter StudyEfficacy and safety of liraglutide compared to sulphonylurea during Ramadan in patients with type 2 diabetes (LIRA-Ramadan): a randomized trial.
Compare effects of liraglutide 1.8 mg and sulphonylurea, both combined with metformin, on glycaemic control in patients with type 2 diabetes (T2D) fasting during Ramadan. ⋯ Despite lower fructosamine levels and body weight at the beginning of Ramadan, use of liraglutide showed similar glycaemic improvements, fewer hypoglycaemic episodes and greater body weight reduction compared with sulphonylurea. LIRA-Ramadan provides evidence for liraglutide being safe and efficacious for management of T2D during Ramadan fasting.

Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter StudyEffect of adding insulin degludec to treatment in patients with type 2 diabetes inadequately controlled with metformin and liraglutide: a double-blind randomized controlled trial (BEGIN: ADD TO GLP-1 Study).
To evaluate the efficacy and safety of adding insulin degludec (IDeg) to treatment in patients with type 2 diabetes receiving liraglutide and metformin and qualifying for treatment intensification because of inadequate glycaemic control. ⋯ The addition of liraglutide and IDeg to patients sub-optimally treated with metformin and liraglutide and requiring treatment intensification was found to be effective and well-tolerated.

Randomized Controlled TrialPerformance and safety of an integrated bihormonal artificial pancreas for fully automated glucose control at home.
To assess the performance and safety of an integrated bihormonal artificial pancreas system consisting of one wearable device and two wireless glucose sensor transmitters during short-term daily use at home. ⋯ The results of this pilot study suggest that our integrated artificial pancreas provides better glucose control than insulin pump therapy in patients with type 1 diabetes at home and that the treatment is safe.
