Decompression injuries occur on account of the special hyperbaric effects during the emerge phase and require superior therapeutic knowledge. Vitally important is emergency treatment with high concentrated oxygen at an early stage. Sever decompression injuries require oxygenation in a hyperbaric treatment chamber.

Current guidelines of the global initiative for asthma (GINA) recommend the addition of biologics in step 5 of the stepwise asthma treatment approach. This review gives an overview on the effects and the clinical role of antibodies targeting immunoglobulin E, IgE (Omalizumab), Interleukin-5, IL-5 (Mepolizumab, Reslizumab) or the IL-5 receptor (Benralizumab). In addition, potential future treatment options of refractory asthma with antibodies (for instance Dupilumab) are discussed.

In emergency departments, patients present with different severities of diseases and traumatic injuries. However, patients with severe and life-threatening conditions compete for the same resources such as personal and structure. As a general rule, each patient should receive immediate diagnostic and treatment, independent of his or her severity of disease or traumatic injury. ⋯ In summary, nurse-driven triage is an instrument to improve patient safety in emergency medicine. A structured and systematic triage of patients using validated triage assessment tools are recommended from national and international societies of emergency medicine. Therefore, nurse-driven triage is also a must in Germany.

Review[Nasal Highflow - Treatment option in severe hypoxaemia?].
Nasal High Flow (NHF) provides a warmed and humidified air stream. In pediatrics, this method is already in widespread use and is increasingly replacing the CPAP. New studies show success in treating adults. ⋯ At this juncture effectiveness of this easy to use method is not clear. Preliminary reports describe an improvement in ventilation by the NHF. Here, a wash-out of the airways and improved alveolar ventilation seem to be the main operating principles.
