While many scholars have acknowledged the relationship between personal and work-related factors associated with job search and actual turnover, there is a lack of longitudinal designs that test this relationship empirically. ⋯ Health care organizations should pay attention to preventive measures in order to protect labor market potential. Recommendations are made for human resource development in health care organizations and for further empirical research to better understand to what extent different policy systems across the European countries explain variance in outcomes.

New care methods have emerged in the last few years. Healing Touch is relaxing and as such, helps prepare the patient for the medical act, the pain of which he may often feel anxious about As they foster confidence between the patient and the medical practitioner, such practices create better conditions for the medical care act to be performed. Even if there is no doubt about its impact on the patient, the effect of Healing Touch has never been scientifically assessed, and the only available references are rather scarce. ⋯ Only willing patients who were prescribed healing touch were included in the experiment. Patients with cognitive problems - be they temporary (linked to a temporary clinical conditions) or not - or those suffering from some disabilities preventing them from using assessment scales and questionnaires are excluded. The recruitment of a 784-patient panel was needed to set out the 8 situations in which a Healing Touch indication may be effective.

This article presents a systematic review of the instruments measuring pain with patients suffering from cancer. A description of each instrument is provided followed by the presentation of the psychometric characteristics. The review is followed by a discussion on the relevancy of these instruments as well as their application in clinics.

The aim of the study was to identify the perception health professionals in palliative care had of end of life conflicts. The nature of t he conflicts,their prevalence, intensity, causes andeffects were specially addressed. Furthermore proposals of possible solutions of conflicts were investigated. ⋯ End of life conflicts are a common reality. They may compromise the quality of care and may contribute to high economic and social costs. They should be put on the public health agenda as a high priority.
