Review Meta Analysis
Effect of Pain Education Interventions on Registered Nurses' Pain Management: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.
This review and meta-analysis aims to reveal how pain education interventions affect registered nurses' pain management. ⋯ Pain education study strategies varied widely among the included articles. These articles used multivariate interventions without systematization or sufficient opportunity to transfer the study protocols. It can be concluded that versatile pain nursing education interventions, as well as auditing of pain nursing and its documentation combined with feedback, can be effective to nurses in adapting pain management and assessment practices and increasing patient satisfaction. However, further research is required in this regard. In addition, well-designed, implemented, and reproducible evidence-based pain education intervention is required in the future.

With the rapid development of information technology, hospital information systems (HISs) have been deeply applied in the medical field and have shown broad application prospects. There are still some noninteroperable clinical information systems that pose an obstacle to the effective coordination of care, such as cancer pain management. ⋯ The cancer pain chain management information system can enable nurses to evaluate and record pain in a more standardized way, but it has no significant effect on the pain intensity of cancer patients.

Randomized Controlled Trial
Effect of TENS on Vacuum Pain in Acute Soft Tissue Trauma.
In the literature, the effect of TENS on acute pain has been investigated, and no study has been found on its effect on pain associated with VAC application. This randomized controlled trial was designed to assess the efficacy of TENS application in pain caused by vacuum applied in acute soft tissue trauma of the lower extremity. ⋯ The results obtained from our study showed that TENS reduced the pain caused by vacuum applied in acute soft tissue trauma of the lower extremity. It is thought that TENS may not replace traditional analgesics but may help reduce the level of pain and contribute to healing by increasing comfort during painful procedures.

Observational Study
Chronic Pain and Depression are Increased in Outpatient Adults with Somatic Symptoms from Secondary Health Care Services.
Somatic symptom disorder is described as excessive thoughts, feelings, or behaviors related to physical symptoms. The presence of somatic symptoms has been associated with depression, alexithymia, and the presence of chronic pain. Individuals with somatic symptom disorder are frequent attenders of primary health care services. ⋯ In this study, we observed a high frequency of somatic symptoms in outpatients attending secondary health care services. They may be accompanied by comorbid cardiovascular conditions, higher pain intensity, and other mental health-related symptoms, which may aggravate the general clinical picture presented by the patient seeking health care. The presence and severity of somatization should be taken into consideration in the first and second level health care services for an early mental state evaluation and treatment of these outpatients to have a better clinical assessment and health outcome.
