A Pilot Randomized Controlled Trial of Effectiveness of a Psychoeducational Intervention on the Management of Musculoskeletal Chronic Noncancer Pain.
To investigate the effectiveness of a psychoeducational intervention on pain intensity management in musculoskeletal chronic noncancer pain and to identify relevant variables and preliminary data to allow the design of a randomized controlled trial. ⋯ These findings provide promising support for the beneficial effects of psychoeducation on the intensity of noncancer chronic musculoskeletal pain. Based on the results, future randomized controlled trials are needed.

Effects of Relaxation-Focused Nursing Program in Women with Ovarian Cancer: A Randomized Controlled Trial.
Surgical treatment is a major cause of hospitalization in ovarian cancer. In this process, physical problems, such as pain and changes in respiratory functions, and psychological problems, such as anxiety and stress, may develop. ⋯ The program was more effective than usual nursing care in preoperative anxiety, pain, and level of knowledge. Although there was no difference between the care satisfaction scores of the patients, the reasons for care satisfaction were different in the program. Developing and implementing care that combines stress reduction interventions and preoperative education can improve the preoperative outcomes of patients.

The Effects of Self-Aromatherapy Massage on Pain and Sleep Quality in Patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis: A Randomized Controlled Trial.
Rheumatoid arthritis is the most common form of inflammatory arthritis and can lead to pain, joint deformity, and disability, resulting in poor sleep quality and lower quality of life. The efficacy of aromatherapy massage on pain levels and sleep quality among rheumatoid arthritis patients remains unclear. ⋯ Aromatherapy massage is effective in improving sleep quality in rheumatoid arthritis patients. More studies are needed to evaluate the effects of aromatherapy hand massage on the pain levels of rheumatoid arthritis patients.
