Efficacy and Safety of Tapentadol Immediate Release Assessment in Treatment of Moderate to Severe Pain: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.
To assess the efficacy and safety of tapentadol IR for moderate to severe pain compared to oxycodone IR. ⋯ Tapentadol IR 75 mg might be an optimal dose for moderate to severe pain control with fewer side effects. All three doses of tapentadol IR could provide comparable efficacy to oxycodone HCL IR 10 mg.

To identify variables correlated with a diagnosis of diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN) using random forest modeling applied to electronic health records. ⋯ Random forest modeling can determine likelihood of a DPN diagnosis. Further validation of the random forest model may help facilitate earlier diagnosis and enhance management strategies.

Validation of a New Placebo Interferential Current Method: A New Placebo Method of Electrostimulation.
The present study aimed to investigate if a new placebo device for interferential current (IFC) that delivers current during only the first 40 seconds of stimulation is effective at promoting adequate subject blinding. ⋯ The new method of placebo IFC was effective for blinding of research investigators and most of the active IFC-treated subjects, promoting an appropriate placebo method.
