Fibromyalgia is a chronic pain syndrome characterized by central sensitization. A novel protocol based on slowly repeated evoked pain (SREP) appears to be a useful marker of pain sensitization in fibromyalgia patients. Whether SREP enhances diagnostic accuracy beyond key clinical symptoms that characterize fibromyalgia has not been examined. ⋯ These results provide further evidence of SREP as a marker of pain sensitization in fibromyalgia and suggest that it captures aspects of fibromyalgia not fully captured by clinical features. Combining SREP with assessment of clinical features could potentially improve fibromyalgia diagnosis.

Remote electrical neuromodulation (REN) is a nonpharmacological acute migraine treatment that stimulates upper-arm peripheral nerves. The aim of this investigation was to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of REN for acute treatment of migraine in a real-world setting. ⋯ Real-world data confirm that REN results in meaningful clinical benefits with minimal side effects. REN may provide an effective drug-free treatment option for achieving consistent relief from migraine symptoms and may reduce the use of acute medications.

Multisite chronic pain (MSCP) is associated with increased chronic pain impact, but methods for identifying MSCP for epidemiological research have not been evaluated. ⋯ Identification of MSCP with electronic health care data was insufficiently accurate to be used as a surrogate or screener for MSCP identified by self-report, but both methods identified persons with heightened chronic pain impact.

Validity and Reliability of the Computer-Administered Routine Opioid Outcome Monitoring (ROOM) Tool.
The Routine Opioid Outcome Monitoring (ROOM) tool measures outcomes with opioids using an established framework which includes domains such as pain, mood, opioid use disorder, alcohol use, and constipation. This study aims to validate and establish the test-retest reliability of the computer-administered ROOM tool. ⋯ The computer-administered ROOM tool is a valid approach for brief monitoring of outcomes with prescribed opioids in primary care settings and appears to be acceptable to people who are using prescribed opioids for chronic pain.
