Determine the effectiveness of intradiscal corticosteroid injection (IDCI) for the treatment of discovertebral low back pain. ⋯ PROSPERO (CRD42021287421).

This study aims to assess the patient-centeredness and psychometric properties of the Defense and Veterans Pain Rating Scale 2.0 (DVPRS) as a patient-reported outcome measure (PROM) for pain assessment in a military population. ⋯ The DVPRS as a PROM for pain assessment in the military population falls short in terms of content validity, construct validity, and patient-centeredness. It requires further development and validation, including meaningful patient engagement, to meet current standards and best practices for PROMs.

The present study sought to develop and perform the initial validation of a scale assessing sensitivity to menstrual pain and symptoms. ⋯ Menstrual sensitivity is a unique construct that reflects women's attunement to and fear of menstrual symptoms, and the Menstrual Sensitivity Index is a valid and reliable measure of this construct. This scale could be useful in advancing research and clinical work targeting menstrual pain.

To describe and assess the feasibility of an ultrasound-guided technique for intra-articular injection of the costovertebral joints, in an unembalmed cadaveric specimen, utilizing fluoroscopy and cone beam computerized tomography for confirmation of contrast spread and needle tip position, respectively. ⋯ This study suggests that, when performed by experienced interventionists, this technique has an accuracy rate of 72%. Further studies are warranted before these results can be extrapolated to daily clinical practice.

Lumbar medial branch radiofrequency ablation (RFA) is a common intervention to manage chronic axial low back pain originating from the facet joints. A more parasagittal approach targeting the posterior half of the lateral neck of superior articular process (SAP) was previously proposed. However, specific needle angles to achieve parallel placement at this target site have not been investigated. ⋯ Targeting the posterior half of the lateral neck of SAP required <10-degree angulation from parasagittal plane in majority of cases. However, variability of needle angles suggests a standard "one-size-fits-all" approach may not be the optimal technique.
