The purpose of this study was to uncover and describe the barriers to education as experienced by Syrian refugee girls in the Za'atri Syrian Refugee Camp in Jordan. ⋯ Syrian refugee girls are at high risk for gender-based abuse and violence. Nurses can play an important role in reducing the health risks associated with gender-based abuse by assessing clients for symptoms of physical and psychological abuse, including symptoms of PTSD, depression, anxiety, and suicidal ideation. Maternal and child health assessment and health-promoting interventions should be included in the healthcare plan. Understanding the sociopolitical conditions, as well as the cultural and religious backgrounds, that shape the lived experiences of displaced girls is also essential for offering a congruent, culturally sensitive plan of care and for creating targeted and relevant educational and treatment intervention strategies and referrals.

To explore nurse-family communication during and after family meetings. ⋯ Findings from this exploration of nurse communication during and after family meetings can inform how nurses may best assist families during surrogate decision making in the intensive care unit.

To test whether communication mediated relationships among nurses' work environments and nurse outcomes of job satisfaction and intent to stay. ⋯ A potential solution to the nursing shortage in Jordan emerges by identifying communication with physicians as a mediator in the relationship between the work environment and selected nurse outcomes.

The primary purpose of this study was to explore the relationships among distributive justice, procedural justice, interactional justice, job stress, cognition-based trust, and affect-based trust; the secondary purpose was to determine the effect of distributive justice, procedural justice, interactional justice, cognition-based trust, and affect-based trust on job stress in hospital organizations. ⋯ Reducing employees' job stress and improving their perceptions of organizational trust and organizational justice can improve their levels of cognition-based trust and affect-based trust regarding their managers. As the job stress of nurses decreases, the effectiveness of health services may increase as organizational trust and justice develop.

The Relationship of Frailty and Hospitalization Among Older People: Evidence From a Meta-Analysis.
This research explored the relationship between the stages of frailty and risk for hospitalization in older adults and evaluated the risk for hospitalization among the elderly in relation to various frailty assessment indexes. ⋯ Professional nursing staff should use frailty indicators in a timely fashion to assess the status of frailty in older people and should effectively develop frailty prevention strategies to decrease the risk for hospitalization and to enhance quality of life for older adults.
