Liposomal bupivacaine (LipoB), delivered via intercostal nerve blocks (ICNBs), is increasingly being used for postoperative pain control in thoracic surgery patients, but there is limited data on its effectiveness when compared to standard bupivacaine. ⋯ Intercostal nerve block, liposomal bupivacaine, RATS, regional anesthesia, robotic-assisted thoracoscopic surgery, thoracotomy, VATS, video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery.

Conservative Treatment Versus Ultrasound-Guided Injection in the Management of Meralgia Paresthetica: A Randomized Controlled Trial.
Meralgia paresthetica (MP) is an entrapment mononeuropathy of the lateral femoral cutaneous nerve (LFCN), in which conservative treatment options are not always sufficient. ⋯ Meralgia paresthetica, ultrasound-guided injection, transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation.

Randomized Controlled Trial
Clinical Study of Spinal Cord Stimulation and Pulsed Radiofrequency for Management of Herpes Zoster-Related Pain Persisting Beyond Acute Phase in Elderly Patients.
Postherpetic neuralgia (PHN) occurs in 9% to 34% of herpes zoster (HZ) patients, and the incidence of PHN is positively correlated with age. A number of patients suffer from poor therapeutic effects or intolerable side effects and need to accept minimally invasive analgesia. ⋯ Spinal cord stimulation, pulsed radiofrequency, postherpetic neuralgia.

Cordotomy is an invasive procedure for the management of intractable pain not controlled by conventional therapies, such as analgesics or nerve block. This procedure involves mechanical disruption of nociceptive pathways in the anterolateral column, specifically the spinothalamic and spinoreticular pathways to relieve pain while preserving fine touch and proprioceptive tracts. ⋯ Cancer pain, cordotomy complications, cordotomy indications, intractable pain, open cordotomy, percutaneous cordotomy.

To date, there is limited research on whether the various types of mandatory usage of prescription drug monitoring programs (PDMP) have any effects on prescribing patterns, drug usage, patient care, and drug diversion (8-10). Within the United States (US), there is wide variation in individual states' requirements for the usage of PDMPs. ⋯ Prescription drug monitoring program, opioids, mandatory usage, benzodiazepines, Wisconsin.
