Meckel's Cave Size Measured by Magnetic Resonance Imaging in the Prognosis of Percutaneous Balloon Compression for Trigeminal Neuralgia.
Percutaneous balloon compression (PBC) is a safe and effective method to treat trigeminal neuralgia. Despite it is known that intraoperative balloon volume is crucial in the prognosis of PBC patients and correlates with Meckel's cave (MC) size, it is a lack of objective and valid criteria for intraoperative balloon volume of PBC. ⋯ The equation [balloon volume (cm3) = 0.110 cm3 + 1.274*MC size] yields an appropriate value at which the patient has a low recurrence rate and a low degree of facial numbness. Preoperative measurement of MC size can be used to guide the intraoperative balloon volume and to predict the patient's prognosis.

Long-term Outcomes of Pulsed Radiofrequency for Supraorbital Neuralgia: A Retrospective Multicentric Study.
Pulsed radiofrequency (PRF) is a percutaneous, micro-invasive, and micro-destructive neuromodulation technology. It has been reported to be useful in the treatment of supraorbital neuralgia (SN). However, the long-term effectiveness and safety of this technique in SN has not been reported yet. ⋯ The performance of PRF for the treatment of SN was confirmed to be favorable in a multicentric, relatively large scale, and long-term perspective.

Aspirin Cessation Before Interventional Procedures: Not Blindly Following Guidelines but Making Test-based Decisions.
Deciding whether to continue or discontinue aspirin prior to interventional procedures is a major concern for pain physicians. Many guidelines have been published on the discontinuation of aspirin before invasive procedures; however, the recommendations are inconsistent and do not consider individual platelet function. Furthermore, many studies have shown a high prevalence of aspirin resistance in patients taking this medication. ⋯ The high prevalence of normal platelet function in patients taking aspirin suggests no necessity of discontinuation before procedures in such patients. Abnormal platelet function can occur even in patients who are not taking aspirin. Therefore, platelet function should be measured and considered on a case-by-case basis prior to interventional procedures, and discontinuation of aspirin should be decided based on these factors.

A Cross-Sectional, Multicenter Study Examining the Validation and Adaptation of the Chinese ROWAN Foot Pain Assessment Questionnaire.
The 39-item ROwan Foot Pain Assessment Questionnaire (ROFPAQ) has affective, cognitive, and sensory dimensions to evaluate chronic foot pain. However, to date, the ROFPAQ has only been validated in English and Spanish versions. A simplified Chinese version of ROFPAQ is still not available, even though China has a large population of patients with foot pain. ⋯ The ROFPAQ-C can be used as a valid and reliable tool for chronic foot pain in the Chinese population.
