ReviewThe oncological role of resection in newly diagnosed diffuse adult-type glioma defined by the WHO 2021 classification: a Review by the RANO resect group.
Glioma resection is associated with prolonged survival, but neuro-oncological trials have frequently refrained from quantifying the extent of resection. The Response Assessment in Neuro-Oncology (RANO) resect group is an international, multidisciplinary group that aims to standardise research practice by delineating the oncological role of surgery in diffuse adult-type gliomas as defined per WHO 2021 classification. ⋯ Weighing the expected survival benefits of resection as dictated by molecular tumour profiles against clinical factors, including the introduction of neurological deficits, we propose an algorithm to estimate the oncological effects of surgery for newly diagnosed gliomas. The algorithm serves to select patients who might benefit most from extensive resection and to emphasise the relevance of quantifying the extent of resection in clinical trials.

Multicenter StudyCombining PSMA-PET and PROMISE to re-define disease stage and risk in patients with prostate cancer: a multicentre retrospective study.
Prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA)-PET was introduced into clinical practice in 2012 and has since transformed the staging of prostate cancer. Prostate Cancer Molecular Imaging Standardized Evaluation (PROMISE) criteria were proposed to standardise PSMA-PET reporting. We aimed to compare the prognostic value of PSMA-PET by PROMISE (PPP) stage with established clinical nomograms in a large prostate cancer dataset with follow-up data for overall survival. ⋯ Cancer Registry North-Rhine Westphalia.

Cancer incidence and survival for 11 cancers in the Commonwealth: a simulation-based modelling study.
The number of new cancer cases in Commonwealth countries rose by 35% between 2008 and 2018, but progress in cancer control has been slow in many low-income and lower-middle-income member states. We aimed to examine cancer outcomes and priority areas in the Commonwealth to provide insight and guidance on prioritisation of efforts to improve cancer survival and make the best use of scarce resources. ⋯ Harvard T H Chan School of Public Health.
