Meta Analysis Comparative StudyGLP-1 receptor agonists versus metformin in PCOS: a systematic review and meta-analysis.
This meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1) receptor agonists for women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) by comparing their effect with that of metformin. Electronic databases (PubMed, EMBASE, Cochrane Library, WanFang Database, CNKI) dating from their establishment to June 2018 were searched to find all randomized controlled trials (RCTs) reporting the efficacy of GLP-1 receptor agonists versus metformin for patients with PCOS. Therapeutic variables included menstrual cycle, sex hormone and clinical manifestations, glucose metabolism and other metabolic indexes. ⋯ Therefore, compared with metformin, GLP-1 receptor agonists might be a good choice for obese patients with PCOS, especially those with insulin resistance. The available evidence is, however, inconclusive given its moderate to low quality. More high-quality research is needed to assess the efficacy of a GLP-1 receptor agonist on women with PCOS.

Knowledge, attitudes and practice of physicians towards fertility and pregnancy-related issues in youngBRCA-mutated breast cancer patients.
This study explored the knowledge, attitudes and practice of physicians towards fertility and pregnancy-related issues in young BRCA-mutated breast cancer patients. ⋯ Several misconceptions on fertility preservation and pregnancy-related issues in breast cancer patients persist even among physicians directly involved in breast cancer care. Focused research efforts to address these issues in BRCA-mutated breast cancer patients and education to improve physicians' knowledge and adherence to available guidelines are urgently needed.

Comparative StudyPlacental volume and other first-trimester outcomes: are there differences between fresh embryo transfer, frozen-thawed embryo transfer and natural conception?
Does mode of conception influence placental volume and other first-trimester outcomes? ⋯ Placental volume and other first-trimester parameters are modified by IVF with fresh embryo transfer and FET compared with natural conception, but with opposite trends. Given the different protocols used for these techniques, hormonal treatment per se may have a major effect on pregnancy outcomes through the modification of placental invasiveness.

Gynaecologists' view on diagnostic delay and care performance in endometriosis in the Netherlands.
To evaluate implementation of the key recommendations of the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE) guidelines on endometriosis, and to assess factors influencing diagnostic delay of endometriosis from Dutch gynaecologists' point of view. ⋯ Overall familiarity with, and use of, the 2014 ESHRE guidelines among Dutch gynaecologists is high. Dutch gynaecologists agree with the recommendations relating to diagnosis and adhere to them closely. Diagnostic delay, however, is still considerable; therefore, efforts to reduce diagnostic delay of endometriosis should be aimed at improving knowledge and awareness in both patients and medical professionals, as well as improving collaboration.

Cumulative live birth rates after IVF in patients with polycystic ovaries: phenotype matters.
Do cumulative live birth rates (CLBR) vary among women with different polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) phenotypes who undergo IVF/intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) treatment? ⋯ Hyperandrogenic PCOS phenotypes confer significantly lower CLBR compared with their normoandrogenic counterparts. These findings may imply the need for adapted counselling and tailored approaches when treating PCOS patients with hyperandrogenism who require ART.
