Physician and patient satisfaction with the new AMS 700 momentary squeeze inflatable penile prosthesis.
A single-armed, prospective, multicenter study evaluated the redesigned American Medical Systems (AMS) 700 Momentary Squeeze (MS) pump inflatable penile prosthesis (IPP) with enhanced features for ease of implantation and patient manipulation. The device incorporates design changes to all components: pump, cylinders, rear-tip extenders, and reservoir. ⋯ The new AMS 700 MS IPP seems a distinct improvement over previous devices with most physicians feeling implantation and patient instruction were easier. The device also satisfied 86% of the users and virtually eliminated autoinflation.

Erectile dysfunction and ischemic heart disease are common health problems that affect elderly individuals. Despite advances in treatment strategies, cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) has been used for coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) for over three decades for surgical myocardial revascularization. ⋯ The OPCABG has a diminished impact on the sexual function of patients compared with the conventional on-pump CABG. Therefore, the type of operation can be considered a predictive factor of sexual function following CAB surgery.

Phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitor (PDE5) use is a treatment strategy for prostate cancer patients with post-radiation therapy (RT) erectile dysfunction (ED). ⋯ A steady decrease in sildenafil response was seen with increasing duration after RT. Several factors were predictive of sildenafil failure.

There is no correlation between erectile dysfunction and dose to penile bulb and neurovascular bundles following real-time low-dose-rate prostate brachytherapy.
We evaluated the relationship between the onset of erectile dysfunction and dose to the penile bulb and neurovascular bundles (NVBs) after real-time ultrasound-guided prostate brachytherapy. ⋯ Penile bulb doses are low after real-time ultrasound-guided prostate brachytherapy. We found no correlation between dose to either the penile bulb or NVBs and the development of postimplantation impotency.
