Meta AnalysisCentral Venous Oxygen Saturation for Estimating Mixed Venous Oxygen Saturation and Cardiac Index in the ICU: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.
The objectives of our systematic review and meta-analyses were to determine the diagnostic accuracy of central venous oxygen saturation (Scv o2 ) in estimating mixed venous oxygen saturation (Sv o2 ) and cardiac index in critically ill patients. ⋯ There is moderate reliability for Scv o2 in predicting Sv o2 in critical care patients with variability based on sampling site and presence of sepsis. There is limited evidence on the independent use of Scv o2 in predicting cardiac index.

Meta AnalysisProphylactic Antibiotics Delivered Via the Respiratory Tract to Reduce Ventilator-Associated Pneumonia: A Systematic Review, Network Meta-Analysis, and Trial Sequential Analysis of Randomized Controlled Trials.
To assess the effects of antibiotics delivered via the respiratory tract in preventing ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP). ⋯ In adult patients with mechanical ventilation for over 48 h, prophylactic antibiotics delivered via the respiratory tract reduced the risk of VAP, particularly for those treated with nebulized aminoglycosides.

Remimazolam vs. propofol for general anaesthesia in elderly patients: a meta-analysis with trial sequential analysis.
Elderly patients comprise an increasing proportion of patients undergoing surgery, and they require special attention due to age-related physiological changes. Propofol is the traditional agent for anaesthesia, and recently, remimazolam, a novel ultra-short-acting benzodiazepine, has emerged as an alternative to propofol in general anaesthesia. ⋯ Remimazolam significantly reduced the risk of hypotension, bradycardia and injection pain, despite an increase in the time to loss of consciousness. Remimazolam appears to be an effective and well tolerated alternative to propofol in elderly patients undergoing general anaesthesia.

Meta AnalysisGlobal meta-analysis of physicians' experiences of workplace sexual harassment by patients.
The World Health Organization recognises that sexual harassment is an occupational hazard in medicine, but the prevalence of sexual harassment by patients is unknown. This global meta-analysis found that a pooled prevalence of 45.13% of 18 803 physicians from several specialities (e.g. internal medicine and surgery) have ever experienced it. Hospitals should implement protective measures such as panic alarms for night shifts and isolated wards.

Meta Analysis Comparative StudyBougie approach improves first-attempt success rate compared to stylet approach in patients with difficult airway needing endotracheal intubation: a meta-analysis.
Bougies and stylets are widely acknowledged as effective tools for managing endotracheal intubation, uncertainties persist regarding the comparative efficacy and safety of bougie versus stylet approaches in endotracheal intubation. ⋯ For patients with difficult airway characteristics, our recommendation is to perform endotracheal intubation (ETI) using the bougie approach over the stylet approach, as it has been associated with a better first-attempt success rate. Notably, the advantages of using a bougie may be less pronounced for patients without signs of a difficult airway.
