To identify the association of mothers with a career in higher educati--on and their children's growth and development. ⋯ There is a strong correlation between the time spent with children and the child's growth and development. For working mothers in academia, creating a supportive family or childcare environment and creating dedicated, quality time for interaction with their children are essential. Working mothers are encouraged to manage their time effectively to balance professional and parenting responsibilities and to engage in activities that enhance their children's physical, mental, and emotional development.

Observational Study
Prevalence, pain trajectories, and presurgical predictors for chronic postsurgical pain in a pediatric sample in Spain with a 24-month follow-up.
Pediatric chronic pain, particularly chronic postsurgical pain (CPSP), poses a significant public health challenge, impacting 20% of pediatric populations. While several presurgical predictors have been identified, there is a scarcity of data on long-term outcomes, especially beyond 1 to 2 years postsurgery. Previous research primarily focuses on North American children, creating gaps in understanding CPSP outcomes in diverse health systems, such as in Spain. ⋯ Group-based trajectory modeling revealed 3 postsurgical pain trajectories: Low Pain with Rapid Recovery Group (30.2%), Moderate Pain with Recovery Group (53.5%), and High Pain with Slow Recovery Group (16.3%), with group differences in presurgical predictors, excluding physical activity. This study contributes valuable insights into CPSP, emphasizing the need for long-term follow-up. The findings could inform the implementation of preventive programs for CPSP into diverse health systems.

Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative StudyProspective Randomized Pilot Study Comparing Bivalirudin Versus Heparin in Neonatal and Pediatric Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation.
To test feasibility of a randomized controlled trial (RCT) with an endpoint of time at goal anticoagulation in children on extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) randomized to receive bivalirudin vs. unfractionated heparin. ⋯ In this single-center pilot RCT carried out 2018-2021, we found that the test of anticoagulation therapy of bivalirudin vs. heparin during ECMO was feasible. Larger multicenter studies are required to further assess the safety and efficacy of bivalirudin for pediatric ECMO.

Multicenter StudyAssessing the Reliability of the Bleeding Assessment Scale in Critically Ill Children (BASIC) Definition: A Prospective Cohort Study.
To determine the reliability of the Bleeding Assessment Scale in critically Ill Children (BASIC) definition of bleeding severity in a diverse cohort of critically ill children. ⋯ The BASIC definition is a reliable tool for identifying and classifying bleeding in critically ill children. Implementing this definition into clinical and research practice may provide a consistent and reliable evaluation of bleeding.
