Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter Study
Safety and immunogenicity of 2-dose heterologous Ad26.ZEBOV, MVA-BN-Filo Ebola vaccination in children and adolescents in Africa: A randomised, placebo-controlled, multicentre Phase II clinical trial.
Reoccurring Ebola outbreaks in West and Central Africa have led to serious illness and death in thousands of adults and children. The objective of this study was to assess safety, tolerability, and immunogenicity of the heterologous 2-dose Ad26.ZEBOV, MVA-BN-Filo vaccination regimen in adolescents and children in Africa. ⋯ The heterologous 2-dose vaccination was well tolerated in African adolescents and children with no vaccine-related SAEs. All vaccinees displayed anti-EBOV GP antibodies after the 2-dose regimen, with higher responses in the 56-day interval groups. The frequency of pyrexia after vaccine or placebo was higher in children than in adolescents. These data supported the prophylactic indication against EBOV disease in a paediatric population, as licenced in the EU.

The Effect of Breathing Exercise Using Bubble Blower on Anxiety and Pain during Inferior Alveolar Nerve Block in Children Aged 7 to 10 Years: A Crossover Randomized Clinical Trial.
The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of breathing exercise using bubble blower on anxiety and pain during inferior alveolar nerve block (IANB) in children aged 7 to 10 years. ⋯ Breathing exercise using a bubble blower may be an efficient distraction and relaxation method to decrease pain of 7- to 10-year-old children with moderate to severe anxiety during inferior alveolar nerve block. However, anxiety levels were lower when applying BE, and the differences were not statistically significant.

Randomized Controlled TrialEffect of Vitamin D Supplementation on Inflammatory Biomarkers in School-Aged Children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.
This randomized double-blind, placebo-controlled trial was conducted on 75 school-aged children with a diagnosis of ADHD based on DSM-V criteria. Children were randomly allocated to receive either vitamin D3 (2000 IU/day) or a placebo for 3 months. Serum IL-6, TNF-α, and 25(OH) D were assessed before and after the intervention to determine the effects of vitamin D on the highlighted parameters. ⋯ The findings revealed that vitamin D supplementation for 3 months is not efficacious in reducing inflammatory cytokines in children with ADHD. Further studies are required to confirm these results.

The Effect of Music-Moving Toys to Reduce Fear and Anxiety in Preschool Children Undergoing Intravenous Insertion in a Pediatric Emergency Department: A Randomized Clinical Trial.
Intravenous catheter insertion is a highly invasive medical procedure that causes fear and anxiety in children. This study aimed to analyze the effect of a toy (with music and movement) distraction method on fear and anxiety in children aged 4 to 6 years. ⋯ We found that this method of toy distraction was not effective in reducing fear or anxiety during the intravenous catheter insertion procedure. Accordingly, we recommend that this distraction method be performed in different age groups and with larger samples in various painful and stressful practices in the future and that comparison be made with various distraction methods.

Randomized Controlled TrialEffect of Methylprednisolone Plus Azithromycin on Fractional Exhaled Nitric Oxide and Peripheral Blood Eosinophils in Children with Refractory Mycoplasma Pneumoniae Pneumonia.
To investigate the efficacy and adverse reactions of methylprednisolone plus azithromycin in the treatment of children with refractory mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia (RMPP) and its effect on fractional exhaled nitric oxide (FeNO) and peripheral blood eosinophils (EOS). ⋯ The efficacy of methylprednisolone plus azithromycin in treatment of RMPP is better than azithromycin alone. The former can reduce the levels of FeNO and EOS more effectively than the latter. Key Words: Refractory mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia (RMPP), Methylprednisolone, Azithromycin, Fractional exhaled nitric oxide (FeNO), Eosinophils (EOS).
