Urgency is a complaint of sudden, compelling desire to pass urine, which is difficult to defer, caused by involuntary contraction of the detrusor muscle during the bladder-filling stage. To enable detrusor inhibition, electrotherapy resources such as transcutaneous tibial nerve stimulation (TTNS) and parasacral transcutaneous electrical stimulation (PTES) have been used. The objective this study is to publish the study protocol that aims to investigate whether urgency decreases after treatment with both of the techniques. ⋯ The present study aims to contribute evidence for a more in-depth discussion on electrode positioning for electrostimulation used in urgency treatment. It should be emphasized that, based on the possibility of confirming the hypothesis that urgency will decrease in a similar way after both treatments (TTNS and PTES), the PTES will be used as an option for positioning the electrodes alternatively to the tibial nerve region in special populations, such as amputees or people with severe lower limb sensory impairment.

Can Urodynamic Findings of Overactive Bladder Determine the Treatment Effect of Urotherapy in Children?
To assess the correlation between urodynamic study findings and urotherapy treatment response in children with urotherapy-resistant overactive bladder (OAB). ⋯ Urodynamic verification of DO is not a prerequisite for urotherapy treatment response. Decreased cystometry bladder capacity (DCBC) found in UDS may suggest a poorer treatment response to urotherapy than patients with normal CBC.

Transcutaneous tibial nerve stimulation versus parasacral stimulation in the treatment of overactive bladder in elderly people: a triple-blinded randomized controlled trial.
To evaluate the effect of transcutaneous tibial nerve stimulation (TTNS) and transcutaneous parasacral stimulation on the treatment of overactive bladder (OAB) in elderly people and to compare the final results between groups. ⋯ Both of the proposed treatments were effective in the improvement of OAB symptoms, but TTNS showed a reduction in a greater number of symptoms as measured by the 3-day bladder diary. No differences were found between groups.

The invasive surgical intervention for neurogenic bladder dysfunction (NBD) following spinal cord injury (SCI) involves permanently altering one's body system and carries many surgical related risks and medication side effects are often seen in long term usage of pharmaceutical medications. Therefore, acupuncture and moxibustion therapies have been recommended due to their efficacy, simplicity of operation, cost effectiveness and safety. This protocol is designed for systematic review and network meta-analysis, which will perform comparisons or rankings of efficacy among the currently available acupuncture and moxibustion techniques and provide evidence to guide the best practice in acupuncture and moxibustion treatments of NBD due to SCI. ⋯ This study aims to propose a standard clinical decision-making guideline for acupuncture and moxibustion treatment of NBD after SCI.

Real World Performance of Sacral Neuromodulation and OnabotulinumtoxinA for Overactive Bladder: Focus on Safety and Cost.
We aimed to determine the real world safety and cost of third line overactive bladder therapies, including onabotulinumtoxinA and sacral neuromodulation. ⋯ Sacral neuromodulation implantation was more expensive than onabotulinumtoxinA injection. However, patients who underwent sacral neuromodulation had a lower complication rate than patients treated with onabotulinumtoxinA. A quality improvement collective database must be created to track information on onabotulinumtoxinA and sacral neuromodulation treatment. This would help generate better performance and comparative data for patient and physician decision making.
