Development and validation of a Taiwan version of the ID Pain questionnaire (ID Pain-T).
Neuropathic pain (NeP) is distinct from nociceptive pain and has different underlying mechanisms requiring specific treatment strategies. To aid diagnosis, self-administered screening questionnaires (such as ID Pain) have been developed to help physicians identify patients with NeP. The aim of this study was to develop and validate a translated ID Pain questionnaire for Taiwanese subjects (ID Pain-T). ⋯ This study provides evidence that the ID Pain-T questionnaire is a valid and reliable self-administered screening tool to identify NeP in Taiwanese patients.

Multicenter Study Observational StudyMulticenter, cross-sectional observational study of the impact of neuropathic pain on quality of life in cancer patients.
Neuropathic cancer pain (NCP) is a common and potentially debilitating symptom in cancer patients. We investigated the prevalence of NCP, as well as its management and association with QOL. ⋯ We found that NCP in cancer patients was significantly associated with a worsened QOL, and current management is inadequate. Therefore, future research aimed at developing improved strategies for management of NCP is required.

Prevalence and clinical characteristics of neuropathic pain due to traumatic brachial plexus injury. ⋯ Our study provides information on the prevalence, characteristics, and variables associated with neuropathic pain due to traumatic brachial plexus injuries that might provide a basis for improving the clinical management of this condition.

Chronic Pain Features Relate to Quality of Life More than Physiopathology: A Cross-Sectional Evaluation in Pain Clinics.
To compare the impact of chronic pain physiopathology on health-related quality of life (HR-QoL), considering the influence of pain features and psychosocial adjustment (intensity, interference, psychological comorbidities, and sleep quality). ⋯ Pain features, particularly intensity, have a greater impact than pain physiopathology on HR-QoL. Distinct physiopathological mechanisms give rise to different pain features that, in turn, may mediate the HR-QoL of patients with chronic pain. This could be used to improve pain management strategies.

Clinical Paresthesia Atlas Illustrates Likelihood of Coverage Based on Spinal Cord Stimulator Electrode Location.
Concordant paresthesia coverage is an independent predictor of pain relief following spinal cord stimulation (SCS). Using aggregate data, our objective is to produce a map of paresthesia coverage as a function of electrode location in SCS. ⋯ This paresthesia atlas uses real-world, aggregate data to determine likelihood of paresthesia coverage as a function of stimulating electrode location. It represents an application of "big data" techniques, and a step toward achieving personalized SCS therapy tailored to the individual's chronic pain.
