High-Voltage, Long-Duration Pulsed Radiofrequency on Gasserian Ganglion Improves Acute/Subacute Zoster-Related Trigeminal Neuralgia: A Randomized, Double-Blinded, Controlled Trial.
Trigeminal postherpetic neuralgia is a severe neuropathic pain and often refractory to existing treatment, it develops secondary to herpes zoster-infected Gasserian ganglion. Therefore, it is important to prevent the transition of acute/subacute zoster-related pain to trigeminal postherpetic neuralgia. Despite numerous studies, the optimal intervention that reduces trigeminal postherpetic neuralgia incidence is still unknown. ⋯ Pulsed radiofrequency, zoster-related trigeminal neuralgia, visual analog scale, 36-Item Short Form Health Survey.

Ultrasound-Guided Pectoral Nerve Block I and Serratus-Intercostal Plane Block Alleviate Postoperative Pain in Patients Undergoing Modified Radical Mastectomy.
Simultaneous application of pectoral nerve block and serratus-intercostal plane block (SPB) is one of the most desirable multimodal analgesic strategies, with wide implementation of the enhanced recovery after surgery pathway for modified radical mastectomy (MRM). ⋯ Pectoral nerve block, serratus-intercostal plane block, postoperative analgesia, modified radical mastectomy.

Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation in chronic tension-type headache: A pilot study.
Tension-type headache (TTH) is the most common type of primary headache disorder. Its chronic form is often the most ignored and challenging to treat. Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) is a novel technique in the treatment of chronic pain. The aim of this pilot study was to explore the effect of low-frequency repetitive TMS (rTMS) on pain status in chronic TTH (CTTH) by subjective and objective pain assessment. ⋯ Subjective improvements in the NRS, HIT-6, McGill Present Pain Intensity, trait of anxiety and psychological pain beliefs were observed. The increase in the thresholds of NFR served as an objective marker for improvement in pain status. Further studies need to be done to confirm our preliminary findings.

Randomized Controlled TrialAdditional benefit of local infiltration of analgesia to femoral nerve block in total knee arthroplasty: double-blind randomized control study.
Multimodal analgesia has become an important concept in current pain management following total knee arthroplasty (TKA). However, controversy remains over what is the most accepted combination. In this study, the additional benefits of local infiltration of analgesia to femoral nerve block were evaluated. ⋯ Randomized controlled trial, Level I.

Does Coadministration of Transforaminal Epidural Steroid Injection with Sedation Improve Patient Satisfaction? A Prospective Randomized Clinical Study.
Transforaminal epidural steroid injection (TFESI) can be administered with or without sedation in clinical practice. ⋯ Patient satisfaction, transforaminal epidural steroid injection, sedation, physician satisfaction.
