Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter Study
A Multicenter, Prospective, Randomized, Placebo-Controlled, Double-Blind Study of a Novel Pain Management Device, AT-02, in Patients with Fibromyalgia.
Existing treatments for fibromyalgia have limited efficacy, and only a minority of individuals clinically respond to any single intervention. This study was a prospective, multicenter, randomized, double-blind, controlled clinical trial to evaluate the feasibility of alternating magnetic field therapy in fibromyalgia patients by comparing the Angel Touch device (AT-02) with a sham control (S-01). ⋯ The reduction in NRS scores for AT-02 relative to sham was comparable to reductions observed in meta-analyses of fibromyalgia drug therapy. The unadjusted results and the persistence of the pain score reductions remain encouraging.

Multicenter Study Clinical TrialTreatment of Chronic Abdominal Pain With 10-kHz Spinal Cord Stimulation: Safety and Efficacy Results From a 12-Month Prospective, Multicenter, Feasibility Study.
Chronic abdominal pain (CAP) can arise from multiple conditions, including inflammatory disorders, trauma because of injury or surgery, or structural or functional causes. This prospective, single-arm study was designed to evaluate the safety and efficacy of 10-kHz spinal cord stimulation (SCS) in patients with intractable CAP over a 12-month follow-up period. ⋯ 10-kHz SCS can provide durable pain relief and improve the quality of life in patients with CAP.

Effect of Early Surgery vs Endoscopy-First Approach on Pain in Patients With Chronic Pancreatitis: The ESCAPE Randomized Clinical Trial.
For patients with painful chronic pancreatitis, surgical treatment is postponed until medical and endoscopic treatment have failed. Observational studies have suggested that earlier surgery could mitigate disease progression, providing better pain control and preserving pancreatic function. ⋯ Among patients with chronic pancreatitis, early surgery compared with an endoscopy-first approach resulted in lower pain scores when integrated over 18 months. However, further research is needed to assess persistence of differences over time and to replicate the study findings.

Options: A Prospective, Open-Label Study of High-Dose Spinal Cord Stimulation in Patients with Chronic Back and Leg Pain.
Therapeutic approaches to spinal cord stimulation (SCS) continue to evolve and improve patient outcomes in patients receiving SCS therapy secondary to failed back surgery syndrome. ⋯ Spinal cord stimulation, high-frequency electrical stimulation, failed back surgery syndrome, neurostimulation, prospective, nonrandomized study.

Chronic idiopathic musculoskeletal pain in youth: a qualitative study.
Chronic musculoskeletal pain (MSP) is frequent in adolescents and has major medical and social consequences. In many cases, when no cause has been clearly established, this pain may be considered to be chronic idiopathic MSP. Our study seeks to identify general criteria for this type of pain through the experience of professionals from tertiary care centers with expertise in pediatric and adolescent chronic MSP. ⋯ clinicaltrials.gov, NCT03171792, https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT03171792?term=LACHAL&cntry=FR&city=paris&rank=1.
