[Value of testing vibration sensation in diagnosing spondylogenic pain syndromes].
One-hundred patients with cervical vertebral changes, 100 with lumbar vertebral changes and 20 with ankylosing spondylitis were studied carrying out examinations of the sensation of touch, pain and vibration in these dermatomes and sclerotomes which are related to the levels of the most frequently occurring intervertebral disc changes. It was found that disturbances of the vibration sensation occurred significantly more frequently than disturbances of surface sensitivity, and their character suggested that they were a more specific sign of damage to the innervation of the spine than segmental disturbances of superficial sensitivity which are due to root damage.

Case ReportsEpidural lipomatosis with lumbar radiculopathy: CT appearance.
Epidural lipomatosis is a relatively uncommon clinical entity in which large amounts of fat are deposited in the epidural space. In most of the previously reported cases of this entity an associated myelopathy has been reported. We describe a patient who presented with lumbar radiculopathy, which was probably caused by epidural lipomatosis.

[Thermography in the diagnosis of spontaneous lumbosacral radiculitis].
Employing the Soviet thermal scanner "Rubin", 59 patients aged 20 to 65 years suffering from lumbosacral radiculitis were examined. Clinical examinations were supplemented with spondylography , epidurography, pneumomyelography and myelography. ⋯ An analysis of the thermograms in 59 patients with lumbosacral radiculitis demonstrated that thermographically the given disease was manifested by the zone of hyperthermia in the lumbosacral area and the disruption of the thermal flow in the form of hypothermia in the lower extremities which in 72% of cases was distributed according to the stripe type. The side and the level of compression of the neural root are also outlined.

Comparative Study[Table of predicting the outcome of neurologic syndromes of lumbar osteochondrosis].
Using the algorhythm of a successional statistical Wald procedure, the author elaborated a table for the assessment of the probability of a transition of an exacerbation into remission on the 20th day. The table was tested in the studied group (87 patients) and in control series (94 patients). ⋯ Incorrect and indefinite responses prevailed in cases of sclerotomic and radicle lumbo ischalgia. The table is intended for selection of a more severe group, the treatment of which from the beginning of an exacerbation is expedient to conduct in a neurological ward.
