Comparative effectiveness of different therapies for treating striae distensae: A systematic review and network meta-analysis.
Striae distensae (SD) are common and aesthetically undesirable dermal lesions. The aim of this study is to comprehensively evaluate the effectiveness of different therapies in treating striae distensae using network meta-analysis. ⋯ Based on the results of network meta-analysis, we recommend treating striae distensae with bipolar radio frequency combined topical tretinoin. The commonly used CO2 fractional laser can be considered as alternative treatment candidate. Additional large-scale RCTs are necessary to obtain more precise estimates of their relative efficacy.

Lupus nephritis (LN) remains a predominant cause of morbidity and mortality in SLE. Here we performed a meta-analysis to evaluate the efficacy and safety of the induction treatment with mycophenolate mofetil (MMF) and cyclophosphamide (CYC) for LN. ⋯ MMF precedes CYC in improving serum complement C3 and complete remission regardless of race, as well as shows fewer adverse drug reactions in the induction treatment of LN belonging to type III-V. But for Asian patients or those initial UPRO levels are less than 4 g/day, CYC may be superior to MMF.

Efficacy and safety of tripterygium glycosides in the treatment of hyperthyroidism: A systemic review and meta-analysis.
Hyperthyroidism is a condition in which the thyroid gland is overreactive and produces excess amounts of thyroid hormone. Tripterygium glycosides, traditional Chinese medicine has been widely used in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, nephrotic syndrome, hyperthyroidism and other diseases due to its anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive effects. Evidence-based research is becoming popular especially with the application of Chinese traditional medicine. This paper systematically reviews and evaluates existing clinical data on the efficacy and safety of Tripterygium glycosides in the treatment of hyperthyroidism. ⋯ This study indicates that Tripterygium glycosides enhances the effect of thiamazole and prednisone in the treatment of hyperthyroidism and without increasing the risk of adverse events.
