Meta Analysis Comparative Study
The clinical efficiency of lycium-rehmannia pills in treating dry eye symptom: A meta-analysis.
Dry eye symptom threatens human health and causes a larger burden of disease, the study aims to systematically compare the therapeutic effect of Lycium-rehmannia pills combined with topical eye drops and pure western medicine (western medicine eye drops) on dry eye symptom, to provide a reflection and enlightenment for clinical treatment. ⋯ Lycium-rehmannia pills combined with western medicine is better than the control group of therapeutic efficiency in the treatment of dry eye symptom. Due to the quantity and quality limitations of the literature, there were controversial results that the study group was better than the control group in Basic Schirmer test, Tear break up time, Fluorescein test, and reduced adverse reactions, including inflammation of the eyelids and congestion. The above conclusion needs more clinical trials to test and verify.

Allergic rhinitis (AR) is a common allergic disorder worldwide. Western medicine is not optimistic about the therapeutic effect of this disease. However, moxibustion can enhance vital energy or immunity through a great number of clinical trials. Thus, the aim of this systematic review and meta-analysis is to systematically evaluate the effectiveness and safety of indirect moxibustion for treating AR. ⋯ CRD42019140944.

Myocardial ischemia reperfusion injury (MIRI) is 1 of the leading causes of disability and mortality worldwide in the cardiovascular diseases. Acupuncture has been widely applied in the treatment and prevention of cardiovascular diseases in recent years. This systematic review protocol aims to provide the methods for evaluating the efficacy of Neiguan (PC6)-based acupuncture pretreatment in animal models of MIRI. ⋯ This review will provide a high-quality synthesis of Neiguan (PC6)-based acupuncture pretreatment for MIRI in animal models CONCLUSIONS:: This systematic review will provide conclusive evidence for whether Neiguan (PC6)-based acupuncture pretreatment is an effective intervention in animal models of MIRI.

Acupuncture plus rehabilitation for post-stroke depression: A protocol for systematic review and meta-analysis.
Post-stroke depression (PSD) is a common stroke complication that is characterized by hopelessness, anxiety, disordered sleep, and lowered responsiveness. Rehabilitation and acupuncture treatments are often combined to treat PSD; however, there has been no meta-analysis on their synergistic effect. Therefore, we aim to perform a systematic review and meta-analysis to estimate the effectiveness of acupuncture and rehabilitation in PSD treatment. ⋯ This systematic review will provide evidence regarding the synergistic effect of acupuncture and rehabilitation treatment for PSD.

Backward walking (BW) training is increasingly used in rehabilitation for stroke, but relevant evidence remains unclear. ⋯ For patients with stroke, BW training, as an adjunct an adjunct to conventional treatment, can improve Berg balance score (moderate evidence), walk test performance (very low evidence), gait velocity (very low evidence). More large-scale and high-quality studies are warranted.
