Adherence to CPAP Treatment and the Risk of Recurrent Cardiovascular Events: A Meta-Analysis.
The effect of continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) on secondary cardiovascular disease prevention is highly debated. ⋯ Adherence to CPAP was associated with a reduced MACCE recurrence risk, suggesting that treatment adherence is a key factor in secondary cardiovascular prevention in patients with OSA.

To assess the prevalence, awareness, treatment, and control of hypertension in Saudi Arabia. ⋯ The prevalence of hypertension was high, with low awareness, treatment, and control rates among Saudis. Therefore, policymakers and healthcare providers must work harmoniously to promote health and to prevent, detect, and control hypertension early.PROSPERO Reg. No.: CRD42023407978.

Review Meta AnalysisEtiology, management, and sequela of postdural puncture headache.
The purpose of this article is to provide readers with a concise overview of the cause, incidence, treatment of, and sequalae of postdural puncture headaches (PDPH). Over the past 2 years, much data has been published on modifiable risk factors for PDPH, treatments for PDPH, and sequalae of PDPH particularly long-term. ⋯ Emerging evidence demonstrates that in patients who are at low risk of PDPH, needle type and gauge may be of no consequence in a patient developing a PDPH. Although epidural blood patch (EBP) remains the gold-standard of therapy, several other interventions, both medical and procedural, show promise and may obviate the need for EBP in patients with mild-moderate PDPH. Patients who endure dural puncture, especially accidental dural puncture (ADP) are at low but significant risk of developing short term issues as well as chronic pain symptoms.

Meta AnalysisPharmacologic interventions for the therapy of postanesthetic shivering in adults: a systematic review and network meta-analysis.
Shivering is a common side effect after general anesthesia. Risk factors are hypothermia, young age and postoperative pain. Severe complications of shivering are rare but can occur due to increased oxygen consumption. Previous systematic reviews are outdated and have summarized the evidence on the topic using only pairwise comparisons. The objective of this manuscript was a quantitative synthesis of evidence on pharmacological interventions to treat postanesthetic shivering. ⋯ Nefopam, tramadol, pethidine and clonidine are the most effective treatments to stop postanesthetic shivering. The efficacy of doxapram is uncertain since different doses showed contradictory effects and the evidence for methylphenidate is based on a single comparison in only one network. Furthermore, both lack data on side effects. Further studies are needed to clarify the efficacy of dexmedetomidine to treat postanesthetic shivering.

Flow Diverter Performance in Aneurysms Arising From the Posterior Communicating Artery: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.
Flow diverters (FDs) have demonstrated a safe and effective profile. However, the use of FDs for posterior communicating artery (PComA) aneurysms remains controversial. ⋯ The performance of FDs in PComA aneurysms is comparable with outcomes found in other subtypes of supraclinoid aneurysms. Effectiveness was acceptable and safety favorable. However, effectiveness was suboptimal in patients with fetal-type PComAs; alternative treatments should be considered in these cases.
