Mechanochemical ablation (MOCA) is an alternative method to endovenous thermal ablation (EVTA) for the treatment of superficial venous incompetence that does not require tumescent anaesthesia. The aim of this study was to compare the outcomes from RCTs of MOCA versus EVTA. ⋯ The rate of successful anatomical occlusion after MOCA is significantly lower than that after EVTA, but there is no difference in procedural and postprocedural pain between the two interventions. Long-term data are required to assess the impact of the reduced vein occlusion rate on clinical outcomes such as quality of life and reintervention.

Progressive muscle relaxation exercises in patients with COVID-19: Systematic review and meta-analysis.
Patients with COVID-19 will experience high levels of anxiety and depression and poor levels of sleep and quality of life (QoL) due to isolation treatment and uncertain outcomes. Progressive muscle relaxation (PMR) exercises show promising treatment effects on mental health and sleep problems and overall QoL in COVID-19 patients. This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of PMR exercises in patients with COVID-19. ⋯ PMR interventions can improve the sleep quality, anxiety, depression, disease severity and QoL in patients with mild to moderate COVID-19 in a short-term period compared to the usual care. However, there was indecision about the safety and long-term effects of PMR.

The occurrence and development of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) are closely related to the immune status of the tumor-host. The immunosuppression caused by tumor cells and toxic side effects produced by chemotherapeutic drugs results in a decrease in immune function, ultimately leading to the failure of clinical chemotherapy treatment. Ginsenoside Rg3 has been clinically reported to have positive effects in enhancing immune function in patients. Thus, we screened and evaluated the quality of the evidence regarding the benefits of ginsenoside Rg3 and conducted a meta-analysis to assess the impact on improving immune function in NSCLC. ⋯ This study confirmed that ginsenoside Rg3 has some efficacy advantages for improving immune function in patients with NSCLC.

Unilateral biportal endoscopy versus microscopic decompression in the treatment of lumbar spinal stenosis: A meta-analysis.
The aim of this study was to evaluate whether there is a superior clinical effect of unilateral biportal endoscopy compared with microscopic decompression in the treatment of lumbar spinal stenosis. ⋯ For patients with lumbar spinal stenosis, unilateral biportal endoscopy was found to be more superior than microscopic decompression in terms of operation time, hospital stays, EuroQol 5-Dimension questionnaire, back visual analogue score, leg visual analogue score and the C-reactive protein level. There was no significant difference between the 2 groups in other outcome indicators.

To evaluate the efficacy and potential pharmacological mechanisms of Danggui Buxue Decoction (DGBXD) in the treatment of diabetic nephropathy. ⋯ The findings suggest that DGBXD affects diabetic nephropathy through a multi-target, multi-component and multi-pathway mechanism.
