To ascertain the prevalence of ABH antigen secretors and non-secretors among Yemenis. In addition to explore the factors that may affect the expression of the secretion phenotype. ⋯ The frequency of ABH secretors was 78.1% among Ibb province population in Yemen. Blood group O revealed the greatest frequency (95%), whereas blood group AB showed the lowest secretor frequency (54%). The secretor phenotype was highly expressed gradually with advance age then decline.

Association between obesity phenotypes and dietary patterns: A two-step cluster analysis based on the China multi-ethnic cohort study.
This study aimed to explore obesity phenotypes and investigate their association with dietary patterns. ⋯ Obesity phenotypes are closely related to metabolic and demographic characteristics, with serum uric acid being a significant factor in categorizing the metabolic states of obesity. The rice-oil-red meat and oil-salt patterns may be related to the metabolic status of individuals with obesity.

Phenotypes of Polish primary care patients using hierarchical clustering: Exploring the risk of mortality in the LIPIDOGEN2015 study cohort.
Comorbidities in primary care do not occur in isolation but tend to cluster together causing various clinically complex phenotypes. This study aimed to distinguish phenotype clusters and identify the risks of all-cause mortality in primary care. ⋯ Overweight/obesity older patients with more comorbidities had the highest risk of long-term all-cause mortality, and in the young group population overweight/obesity insignificantly increased the risk in the long-term follow-up, providing a basis for stratified phenotypic risk management.

ARDS is a heterogeneous condition with two subphenotypes identified by different methodologies. Our group similarly identified two ARDS subphenotypes using nine routinely available clinical variables. However, whether these are associated with differential response to treatment has yet to be explored. ⋯ We found evidence of differential response to PEEP strategies across two ARDS subphenotypes, suggesting possible harm with a higher PEEP strategy in one subphenotype. These observations may assist with predictive enrichment in future clinical trials.

Arterial remodeling is a common pathophysiological change in the pathogenesis of cardiovascular diseases in which the phenotypic switch of vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMC) plays an important role. Recently, an increasing number of long non-coding RNAs(lncRNAs) have been shown to encode micropeptides that play biological roles and have great clinical transformation potential. However, the role of micropeptides encoded by lncRNAs in arterial remodeling has not been well studied and requires further exploration. ⋯ LncRNA MFRL encodes the micropeptide MFRLP, which interacts with mitochondrial cytochrome b to inhibit the VSMC switch from contractile to synthetic phenotype and improve arterial remodeling.
