Risk factors of infection among close contacts of COVID-19: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) was first detected in December 2019, and declared as a pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO) on March 11, 2020. The current management of COVID-19 is based generally on supportive therapy and treatment to prevent respiratory failure. ⋯ Family members and gender differences are the risk factors of infection among close contacts, and it cannot be proved that there are differences in infection among frequent contact, advanced age, and living together.

The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a major public health problem threatening human health. It can lead to multiple system complications, among which liver damage is also a common complication of COVID-19. The pathogenesis of liver injury is complex and involves the interaction of multiple factors. This study aims to investigate the incidence and risk factors of liver injury in COVID-19 patients and analyze the impact of liver injury on clinical prognosis of patients, so as to provide corresponding basis for clinical diagnosis and treatment. ⋯ The incidence of liver injury in COVID-19 patients was high, affected by age, gender, chronic liver disease, inflammatory state and medication, and patients with liver injury were hospitalized longer and were more likely to have a poor prognosis. Therefore, clinical attention should be paid to early intervention.

Association of Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease and Metabolic-Associated Fatty Liver Disease with COVID-19-Related Intensive Care Unit Outcomes: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.
Background and Objective: The association of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and metabolic-associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD) with intensive care unit (ICU) admissions and the need for mechanical ventilation and disease severity in COVID-19 patients. Material and Methods: A systematic literature review was conducted on the databases: Cochrane, Embase, PubMed, ScienceDirect, and the Web of Science from January 2019 to June 2022. Studies evaluating MAFLD using laboratory methods, non-invasive imaging, or liver biopsy were included. ⋯ Severe COVID-19 was seen in 1623 patients, with 33.17% (901/2716) of MAFLD patients and 28.09% (722/2570) of non-MAFLD patients having severe disease. The odds ratio was 1.59 for disease severity, p = 0.010, and a (95% CI) of [1.12-2.26]. Conclusions: Our meta-analysis suggests that there are significantly increased odds of ICU admissions, a need for invasive mechanical ventilation, and disease severity in MAFLD patients who acquire COVID-19.

Meta AnalysisBoosting COVID-19 vaccine inoculation and booster shots: a systematic review and meta-analysis of factors that influence Coronavirus vaccine uptake in practice.
Vaccines alone do not control pandemics, but vaccinations. The hope of COVID-19 pandemic control is hinged on vaccinations and other public health measures. This systematic review/meta-analysis (SR/MA) investigated the factors that inform coronavirus vaccine uptake globally in an attempt to improve COVID-19 immunization. ⋯ Wanning and acquaintance's vaccination status as factors to vaccination are insights the present paper is bringing to the limelight. Health promotion and COVID-19 vaccination planning are crucial for enhancing vaccine uptake.

Outcomes Associated With Intensive Care and Organ Support Among Patients With COVID-19: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.
Accurate accounting of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) critical care outcomes has important implications for health care delivery. ⋯ Coronavirus disease 2019 critical care outcomes have significantly improved since the start of the pandemic. Intensive care unit outcomes should be evaluated contextually (study quality, data completeness, and time) for the most accurate reporting and to effectively guide mortality predictions.
