Development and Validation of a Nomogram for Assessing Survival in Patients with COVID-19 Pneumonia.
The outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has spread worldwide and continues to threaten peoples' health as well as put pressure on the accessibility of medical systems. Early prediction of survival of hospitalized patients will help in the clinical management of COVID-19, but a prediction model that is reliable and valid is still lacking. ⋯ We built a predictive model and constructed a nomogram for predicting in-hospital survival of patients with COVID-19. This model has good performance and might be utilized clinically in management of COVID-19.

The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is caused by a novel coronavirus known as severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), which is associated with several fatal cases worldwide. The rapid spread of this pathogen and the increasing number of cases highlight the urgent development of vaccines. ⋯ Since its discovery in the 1990s, it has been of great interest because of its ability to elicit both humoral and cellular immune responses while showing relevant advantages regarding producibility, stability, and storage. This review aimed to summarize the current knowledge and advancements on DNA vaccines against COVID-19, particularly those in clinical trials.

Care homes have experienced a high number of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19)-related deaths among residents since the onset of the pandemic. However, up to May 2020, there has been a lack of information about the extent of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection among residents and staff in care homes and limited testing in this setting. ⋯ The high proportion of asymptomatic infection combined with underdetection of symptoms by care home staff indicates that offering a test to all residents and staff in care homes with rapid reporting of results would assist accurate identification of infected individuals, facilitating prompt infection prevention and control action.

Effect of low-dose aspirin on mortality and viral duration of the hospitalized adults with COVID-19.
To clarify the effect of aspirin on mortality and viral duration in adults infected with respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-Cov-2). After propensity score-matched (PSM) case-control analyses 24 pairs of patients were enrolled and followed up for 2 months. ⋯ The viral duration time between the 2 groups was not significantly different (P = .942). Among adults (with hypertension, cardiovascular diseases) infected with SARS-Cov-2, low-dose aspirin medication (100 mg/day) was associated with lower risk of mortality compared with non-aspirin users.
