Stress and Fear: Clinical Implications for Providers and Patients (in the Time of COVID-19 and Beyond).
In light of the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic, we explore the role of stress, fear, and the impact of positive and negative emotions on health and disease. We then introduce strategies to help mitigate stress within the health care team, and provide a rationale for their efficacy. Additionally, we identify strategies to optimize patient care and explain their heightened importance in today's environment.

The vast majority of patients in the ongoing coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic primarily present with severe respiratory illness. We report a Covid-19 patient who presented with findings of acute coronary syndrome and was found to have purulent fulminant myopericarditis and cardiac tamponade. ⋯ Through review of the available literature, we also highlight the potential mechanisms of cardiac injury in Covid-19. We hope to increase awareness amongst clinicians about this unusual presentation of Covid-19.

Covid-19 and medical negligence litigation: Immunity for healthcare professionals?
This article considers the recent calls to provide doctors with immunity from medical negligence claims arising out of the Covid-19 pandemic. It provides a critical analysis as to the conditions that would need to be considered for such a policy as well as exploring the wider ramifications.

Case ReportsDetection of SARS-CoV-2 in Hemodialysis Effluent of Patient with COVID-19 Pneumonia, Japan.
We report detection of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 RNA in hemodialysis effluent from a patient in Japan with coronavirus disease and prolonged inflammation. Healthcare workers should observe strict standard and contact precautions and use appropriate personal protective equipment when handling hemodialysis circuitry from patients with diagnosed coronavirus disease.

Acral inflammatory lesions that have some resemblance to idiopathic or autoimmune-associated perniosis (chilblains) have been described in multiple countries during the COVID-19 pandemic. ⋯ A tightly cuffed pattern of perivascular lymphocytes is a feature of perniosis during the COVID-19 pandemic. The absence of SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid protein in these cases suggests against the virus being directly present in these lesions.
