Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter StudyThe safety and efficacy of stem cells for the treatment of severe community-acquired bacterial pneumonia: A randomized clinical trial.
Evaluate the safety profile of expanded allogeneic adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cell (eASC) for the treatment of severe community-acquired bacterial pneumonia (CABP). ⋯ Cx611 was well tolerated in severe CABP. These data provide insights for future stem cell clinical study designs, endpoints and sample size calculation.

Risk factors for thromboembolic events in patients hospitalized for COVID-19 pneumonia in a general ward and requiring treatment with oxygen.
To assess risk factors for arterial and venous thromboses (AVT) in patients hospitalized in general wards for COVID-19 pneumonia and requiring oxygen therapy. ⋯ Among patients hospitalized in general wards for COVID-19 pneumonia during the first wave of the epidemic, diabetes (but not obesity) and a high CRP level were risk factors for AVT. The use of higher doses of anticoagulant in these high-risk patients could be considered.

Oral Simnotrelvir for Adult Patients with Mild-to-Moderate Covid-19.
Simnotrelvir is an oral 3-chymotrypsin-like protease inhibitor that has been found to have in vitro activity against severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) and potential efficacy in a phase 1B trial. ⋯ Early administration of simnotrelvir plus ritonavir shortened the time to the resolution of symptoms among adult patients with Covid-19, without evident safety concerns. (Funded by Jiangsu Simcere Pharmaceutical; ClinicalTrials.gov number, NCT05506176.).

The Effect of Stress Ball Use Applied by Emergency Nurses During Swabbing Procedure on the Pain and Fear Levels of Children Admitted to the Pediatric Emergency Service With the Suspicion of COVID-19: A Randomized Controlled Trial.
This study aimed to determine the effect of stress ball use during the swabbing procedure on the pain and fear levels of children admitted to the pediatric emergency department with the suspicion of coronavirus disease 2019. Children with suspected coronavirus disease 2019 were recruited by convenience sampling from the pediatric emergency department of a university hospital in a city in Turkey. ⋯ Giving a stress ball to children aged 4 to 10 years during the swabbing procedure was determined to reduce the pain and fear levels during and after the procedures. It is recommended that stress ball use be applied during the swabbing procedure for children.
