A cluster randomized trial of two implementation strategies to deliver audit and feedback in the EQUIPPED medication safety program.
The Enhancing the Quality of Prescribing Practices for Older Adults Discharged from the Emergency Department (EQUIPPED) medication safety program involves three core components including provider education, clinical decision support, and audit and feedback using the American Geriatrics Society Beers Criteria to determine potentially inappropriate medications (PIMs). This study evaluated implementation of audit and feedback through a centralized informatics-based dashboard compared to academic detailing delivered one on one by an EQUIPPED champion. ⋯ Eight VA EDs successfully implemented the core components of the EQUIPPED program amid the unprecedented challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. While the academic detailing approach to EQUIPPED audit and feedback was more effective at the group level to improve safe prescribing for older Veterans discharged from the ED, the trial suggests that dashboard-based audit and feedback is a reasonable strategy in resource-limited settings.

Effectiveness of antitussives, anticholinergics, and honey versus usual care in adults with uncomplicated acute bronchitis: a multiarm randomized clinical trial.
Despite the frequent use of symptomatic therapies in cough, evidence of their benefits is lacking. ⋯ The symptomatic treatment evaluated has shown to be ineffective against cough.

Effects of elongation longitudinaux avec decoaption osteo-articulaire and post-facilitation stretching technique on pain and functional disability in mobile users with text neck syndrome during COVID-19 pandemic: A randomized controlled trial.
Adolescent smartphone users have developed a variety of musculoskeletal conditions due to their use of smartphones. ELDOA (Elongation longitudinaux avec decoaption osteo-articulaire) is based on maximizing facial and spinal stretching by assuming specific posture for 1 minute and post facilitation stretching is also a type of muscle energy technique that is used for chronically shortened or tight muscles. This aimed to compare the effects of post-facilitation stretching technique and ELDOA on neck pain and functional disability in mobile users experiencing Text neck syndrome during COVID-19. ⋯ The study concluded that ELDOA method and post-facilitation stretching both were effective in treating neck pain and functional disability. However, ELDOA method was superior to post-facilitation stretching effects on neck pain and functional disability among patients with text neck syndrome.

Polymorphism in interferon alpha/beta receptor contributes to glucocorticoid response and outcome of ARDS and COVID-19.
The use of glucocorticoids has given contradictory results for treating acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). The use of intravenous Interferon beta (IFN β) for the treatment of ARDS was recently tested in a phase III ARDS trial (INTEREST), in which more than half of the patients simultaneously received glucocorticoids. Trial results showed deleterious effects of glucocorticoids when administered together with IFN β, and therefore, we aimed at finding the reason behind this. ⋯ The distribution of this SNP within clinical study arms may explain the contradictory results of multiple ARDS studies and outcomes in COVID-19 concerning type I IFN signaling and glucocorticoids.

Symptom and Viral Rebound in Untreated SARS-CoV-2 Infection.
Although symptom and viral rebound have been reported after nirmatrelvir-ritonavir treatment, the trajectories of symptoms and viral load during the natural course of COVID-19 have not been well described. ⋯ National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.
