Meta Analysis
Effect of real-time feedback on patient's outcomes and survival after cardiac arrest: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
This study investigated the effect of real-time feedback on the restoration of spontaneous circulation, survival to hospital discharge, and favorable functional outcomes after hospital discharge. ⋯ The meta-analysis had shown that the implementation of real-time audiovisual feedback was not associated with improved restoration of spontaneous circulation, increased survival, and favorable functional outcomes after hospital discharge.

Analysis of risk factors for bile duct injury in laparoscopic cholecystectomy in China: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
To explore the risk factors of bile duct injury in laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC) in China through meta-analysis. ⋯ In the present study, age (≥40 years), abnormal preoperative liver function, gallbladder wall thickening, acute and subacute inflammation of the gallbladder, cholecystolithiasis complicated with effusion, and anatomic variations of the gallbladder triangle were found to be closely associated with bile duct injury in LC.

Hypoalbuminemia is associated with fluid overload, the development of acute respiratory distress syndrome, and mortality. The co-administration of albumin and diuretics for the treatment of patients with hypoalbuminemia is expected to increase urine output, without hemodynamic instability, and improve pulmonary function; however, these effects have not been systematically investigated. Here, we aimed to clarify the benefits of the co-administration of albumin and diuretics in mechanically ventilated patients. ⋯ Although this treatment combination reduced the number of days for which mechanical ventilation was required, it did not reduce the all-cause mortality at 30 days. In conclusion, the co-administration of albumin and diuretics may reduce hypotensive events and improve the P/F ratio at 24 hours.

A meta-analysis was performed to evaluate the effect of acupoint herbal patching as an add-on to asthma medication during Sanfu days, as the hottest days in summer, on the acute attack, immunological response, and the pulmonary function in asthmatic children. ⋯ Acupoint herbal patching as an add-on to asthma medication during Sanfu days had a significantly lower frequency of acute attack, lower asthma relapse, higher forced expiratory volume in 1 second, higher peak expiratory flow rate, and higher interferon-gamma after treatment in asthmatic children compared to asthma medication only in asthmatic children.
